My first time visiting Batam and I was travelling alone. I reached the dock of Batam Center Ferry Terminal and saw this counter - KAHA Hotel Reservation. The cheapest hotel available was Triniti Hotel which cost IDR350,000 a night which equal to RM105.00. The reservation office said the hotel is located 200 meter away from the Nagoya Mall. I took a taxi to the hotel which cost IDR70,000 (RM21.00). The location of the hotel is in a quiet and dark place and the roads to the hotel has potholes. Neighboring shop lots were empty. I register at the counter with a friendly receptionist. The room was clean with double bed but the television was too small. The air-condition wasn't cold even after setting at 18 degrees. The room has an open wardrobe, hot water shower, 2 bottles of drinking water, slippers and room service available. Smoking area is available at the hotel entrance walk-way. I walked to the nearby Nagoya Mall which took me 30 min. I realized, the distance to the mall is around 600 meters to 1 kilometers. Breakfast was so simple with choice of "Nasi Goreng" or "Mee Goreng". I would not recommend any tourist to stay in Trinity hotel.

This is a no-frills budget hotel. Be prepared for only 1 pair of slippers, 1 set of toiletries. But you can always ask reception for more sets. Breakfast was simple but satisfying. Beehoon fried rice eggs chicken bread coffee and tea. Simple fare but was stood out was the burly manager and hardworking staff at breakfast clearing plates and being very attentive to replenish the dishes and drinks! Kudos to the staff! Room was spacious enough for 2. Although toilet has slight sewage smell but for a 1 night stay it was sufficient enough. 3 stars for the limited amenities but good service and sufficient stay. Surroundings are dark and quiet. Do not go out at night.

I have been staying in this hotel for a couple of times already. Close proximity to Nagoya Hills and Spa Secret, not to mention the reasonable rates and clean rooms. There are downsides of course, but not as if the hotel can help it. The way back to hotel is very poorly lighted, thus not suitable for walking at night. Nevertheless, it all boils down to our individual planning. By the way, if you are a traveler driver like me, there is free parking.

We stayed in Triniti Hotel for a night in February 2017 and it was just what we expected of it. The staff was nice and helpful. The room was a little bit outdated and would need a renewal. However, as it's a budget hotel, can't complain. The aircon was working and the room including the bathroom was spotless clean. We didn't try the breakfast, so I can't comment on that. The hotel is located not far (5 mins drive) from Nagoya Hill mall, where you can find lots of shopping and dining.
