We stayed one night on our drive tour through Norway. The hotel really wants to stand out, is offering free fixed menu dinner and free buffet breakfast for its guests, rooms look well-appointed, and hotel hallways and restaurants are artfully decorated in fishing-related memorabilia. Internet...More

Thank you for your review!
We are truly sorry you didn't get a good night sleep here. Unfortunately the hotel doesn't have air condition, but we do have portable fans which you can borrow from the front desk.
We wish you a sunny summer!
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel as long as an insight into Norway’s whaling past doesn’t offend you (it doesn’t me). The rooms are spacious, train station is 5 mins walk and you are made welcome

We came by train from Oslo, but flew out from the airport. From the hotel to the train station was only a short walk (even with suitcases to pull) and there was a bus from Torp station to the airport. This was included in the train ticket which was only a few Euros. We only stayed one night at the hotel but enjoyed it. Sandefjord is a pretty spot, but there was not much to do. Visit the whale museum. It is interesting. Also lots of memorabilia at the hotel. We had a superior room which was spacious and comfortable. the evening meal that was included was fine and the breakfast was very good. All in all it was value for money.
Renovations - don't know when last done, but seemed in good condition
Station is a short walk from the hotel, with trains to Oslo (about 90 min ride) and also to the station near Torp airport (one stop)
