Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a great stay. Very friendly staff. Good dinner and breakfast. We also went to Bakernes Paradis which is owned and run by the hotel. A lovely little old fashioned bakery by the fjord where we had a great fish soup and cake for lunch. Lovely 😋

I unexpectedly needed to stay at Kronen Gaard and was completely unprepared in so many ways for my visit. Despite my disorganization, Kronen Gaard's staff went above and beyond to help me feel settled and comfortable. I cannot thank them enough for the "koselig" experience, and professionalism especially from Eve (spelling might be wrong here). Additionally, the food was delicious and the historic/idyllic setting was heavenly. All surfaces and items in the room were extremely clean and the heated floor in the bathroom was also nice! Can't recommend this place enough.

My sister’s wedding party was here. Real good food. And average service. We also stayed the night. Remote for the tv was sticky and dirty. And the shower head needed a clean. Some rooms was too hot and some to cold. Nice place for celebration but need a little work on the service. Might come back at a later date.

My husband and I had booked the "Romantic evening" package, and everything was just as we hoped. Even though we arrived early due to horrible weather conditions that cut our planned day at the beach short, we felt welcome. They got our room ready in record time and brought our sparkling wine and fruit tray. We got a nicely furnished and comfortable junior suite. Their restaurant is really romantic. Old style furniture and decor, white tablecloths and lit candles. Because of Covid-19, breakfast was served at our table. It was OK, but nothing out of the ordinary. The three course dinner included in our package was delicious, however. They offer a set menu every day, with a choice of meat or fish as a main course. Service was extraordinary. All the staff were helpful and friendly. When we came back all soaked after a hike to "Preikestolen", they offered to put our clothes in the drier. A nice touch for Tesla owners is that they offer free charging for guests. The charger is pretty fast, too.

Everything is old, but in general it work ok. Thebathroom is a typical annoying Nordic malfunctional setup where you flood the entire room when having a shower. Good wifi connection and friendly staff.

A quaint and historic hotel with its own idiosyncrasies but delightful nonetheless. Good value for money by Norwegian standards and the 3 course set menu in the evening was delicious. All the staff we met were courteous and helpful and with a bus stop just at the bottom of the drive getting around the area was very easy. I would definitely recommend the hotel if you are touring around this beautiful part of Norway.

I've been here several times, both for weddings and for sleepovers. All of my experiences here have been great. The food is truly great and the location away from the city is nice. This is one of the more romantic hotels located in near proximity to the Stavanger Region.

If you want the proper Norwegian experience, this is the hotel for you. The hotel is located just outside the city, this gives you a relaxing and comfortable stay. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. If you want a trip to Preikestolen, this is just a short drive away and the staff will gladly arrange this for you. I highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed for 4 nights, three of the mornings we were served the same, dry, scrambled eggs, very poor selection , the two existing salads went from a 300gr size to a 50gr size in a small cup. very small rooms, no real space for luggage of a desk to work at. Avoid.

Dear Andre K, thank you very much for your feedback, we appreciate it. It is very regrettable to read about your experience with us. This is, of course, completely unacceptable and we are sorry for the strong experience you are left with. I will follow up on this internally to find out how we managed to differ from our routines when it comes to our breakfast. However, I hope that we will have the opportunity to correct your impression in the future, and do not hesitate to let us know if we can help you in any way. Sincerely Sara Nyheim
