Langenuen is a small holiday-resort and budget accomodation at the fjord of the same name on the island Stord. From the south you reach the island by a tunnel, from the north by ferry. Because of our traffic-favorable situation and the fjord (350m sea border) Langenuen is an ideal starting point for an active vacation in the coastal region of Norway. One finds us close to the E39 in the center between Stavanger and Bergen, 14 km north of Leirvik.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here one night, the other hotels in the center were full. Was a little skeptical, but was pleasantly surprised. The only downside was a hard bed and shower curtain, but otherwise everything was ok. The room had a mini kitchen with a fridge, saucepans, cutlery, kettle and coffee maker.

Absolutely worthwhile! Great place, astonishing view, clean rooms with everything you need. Great value and very nice people that own/run it. We booked an extra night just to enjoy it a bit more. Paradise on earth. Go. Stay. Enjoy. Unforgettable.

I've booked the whole trip in norway with a credit card which is gonna be expired soon, but no problem, as the number stays and the card is being charged for the next three months after expire either. Don't mention the need to pay here by checking in.

Here's a reply from one booking website, for example:
Its highly unlikely if you have a confirm number that the hotels would cancel the reservations due to an expired card.

So, bad customer service here as they threatened me to provide a new card the next days on telephone otherwise they'd cancel the booking. So canceled the booking by myself.

We took a room.

After receiving a "normal" welcome (they made us sign up, pay, and gave us the keys) they answered our questions to understand how the laundry works. So far everything normal, even if it is not that there was who knows what joy in seeing guests.

Then we saw that in front of our room there was a room with washing machines. (No signs outside this room suggesting it was private). So we went up the stairs and since it was raining and there was mud outside we knocked on a door with private writing (it did not say "do not knock"), since no one answered, we tried to open it, assuming it was communicating with the reception. The door was locked so nothing. After a while the owner (I suppose) comes out and says: << but can't you see that there is a private writing ?! When it says private, you don't knock, it's private! >> and he went back inside.

We go out, get dirty in the mud, and ring the bell at the door with reception written on it. Then we notice the sign "we are open enter" so we enter. Who do we find? The same character as before, who says "he didn't see that it says" we're open, please enter "?!
And after asking about the washing machines in front of the room they tell us that it is a private room. But as it happens, they haven't put up any of their beloved and indispensable "private" signs.

Shortly after we saw an online message from them asking if everything was ok. And we said we weren't happy with the welcome. At that point they told us he was sorry and reiterated that he "can help read the signs."

Anyway...
Before entering the room we smelled bug killing spray. Opening his mouth he felt it on the tongue.
There are no mosquito nets so if you open the window or the door insects enter.
Still nice room and nice fjord view. Too bad for the owners / managers. I am very sorry especially for them.

I would like to say that yes, maybe we were wrong to read some of the signs present with absolute perfection (you know how it is ... after 3 hours of travel, rain, mud, in a foreign country, maybe you are not 100% of yours faculty of understanding signs.) ... but things can be said with kindness, perhaps even smiling, given that you are managing a commercial and tourist business. Unfortunately the view of the fjord is not always enough, indeed, the welcome can make an ugly place very beautiful. We have seen many other places in Norway and have never met such people.

What a wonderful place! My daughter and I stayed in one of the small cabins. I was a bit reticent since there were shared restroom and shower facilities, but this was one of the cleanest motel and campground places I have ever seen, with many wonderful touches, a little treehouse, a little free library in the laundry room, very nice laundry facilities with payment on the honor system, and above all, a spectacularly gorgeous setting on the fjord with a view of ships coming through and mountains and set in a wooded area. The beds and linens were comfortable and even the smallest, least expensive cabin had a stovetop, refrigerator and sink. We really enjoyed our stay!
