Arrived at midnight to a welcome note and room key left out in reception ready for our stay. Lovely room, big tv,comfy bed, slept like a log but up early as only there for a short stop-over en route to Kongsfjord. The hotel has recently been refurbished and both the reception area and the dining room have a spacious and...

If you want to go slumming, this is the perfect spot for you! Why any one comes up with the idea to build a hotel in a mud hole is a mystery! I paid 1250 NOK (almost as much as at lovely Rica Ishavshotel in Tromsø) for a room that stank of mold, the porter didn't care about the curfew...

We are travelling 2 weeks in Finnmark to Explorer it's wildlife and nature. This was the first time in Båtsfjord and this was the first hotel we have been served real fresh fish. All the employees were serviceminded. We will love to come back again combined with fishingtrip and bird watching.

We arrived here by car from Kirkenes after a five hours drive through a unique arctic landscape of breathtaking beauty and variety. The purpose of the trip was to see the Varanger peninsula and the fishing villages of Berlevåg and Båtsfjord on the coast of the Barents sea. Båtsfjord is a thriving fishing community with processing industry, wharfs and other...

Made very welcome when we arrived at Hotel. Room comfortable with good breakfast & dinner. The only negative was we didn"t have any confirmation of our booking before travelling but after telephoning them on a few occasions (very cheap to phone from UK) everthing was great and a room was ready for us.

For those expecting four star western cossetted luxury this hotel will leave something to be desired - if that's the style you require, go pay through the nose at the Rica Hotel in Vadso. For everyone else, the Polar Hotell is warm, clean, has all the facilities you need and the food is excellent. There's coffee/tea on tap all day...

Set in the moonscape of Northern Norway, this hotel (Hotell on the signboard) is a perfectly acceptable stop, and resting place in exploring the North. Positives include good basic Nordic cuisine (Reindeer and fish), which come with a professional Sotsman chef, comfortable beds and a warm welcome. Minor negatives include a pervasive smell of smoke - no smoking is not...

Very poor hotel. Staff is very friendly and the food is o.k. (choice of one), but the hotel itself should be torn down. Just renewal won't be enough. Very old rooms and not very clean. Could be your rescue, because it's the only hotel in a wide area. Do not recommend to stay there.

I can not recommend enough, Batsfjord and Polar Hotell is the place to be in the north! beautiful scenery, spectaculair light and very special people. I arrived by bike from the Netherlands and Polar Hotell offered me a stay. I was exhausted because the weather was beautiful but heavy to bike in recent days. it was a very warm welcome...
