We visited the site of the igloo hotel. From the site we were taken on a sped boat ride down the river. The site of the igloo hotel consists of the main lodge with entry foyer Bayton facilities and dining room. It's a beautiful site and the igloo rooms ar built each year. Guests are supplied with sleeping bag and...

Excellent Decor, Very well maintained. Nice ice figures in ice bar, Great and attentive staff, especially "Maya" and one of the Dinner time wait staff in the restaurant (Do not remember her name) for being very pleasant. Well organized: you will sleep on reindeer skins best wearing your clothes + hat and wrapped by slipping bag, available sauna to warm up and fireplace, lots of attractions: dog sliding, snow scooter trip and just ask receptionist what would recommend, during winter you can go for walk on frozen river and watch Northen lights-map available at the reception. Had a wonderful stay here. We arrived on the last night of the 2015/16 Igloo Hotel. The staff are extraordinarily helpful and friendly. We were particularly anxious to see the Northern Lights - and there they were! Each year, the Igloo Hotel is rebuilt and a new theme is chosen. The ice sculptures in the Igloo are beautiful! The experience...

I have just spent a night at the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel. This is a true experience and a really magical place! As the name tells you, this is a snow/ice hotel. This means that the rooms are made out of snow and ice. Its almost like sleeping in a snow-cave, just a bit more comfortable. You are sleeping in worm...

If you're wondering how you'd cope sleeping in -4ºC to -7ºC, don't worry: just go for it! So how was it? I arrived, got a guided tour of the main building showing me where the toilet facilities, changing rooms, showers, sauna, luggage room, lockers and hot tubs were, and was invited to have a look around the igloo hotel itself....

You can't go to Norway in winter without visiting an ice hotel.....so i did!! Beautiful sculptures, carvings and decorations. Stunning chapel where they actually perform marriages and blessings. You'd have to wear thermals underneath your bridal gown! Wouldn't fancy sleeping there though as it's soooo cold! Had a shot of vodka from the ice bar served in an ice glass!...

Ok so this is an expensive place to stay to not have a toilet etc in the room and to have to put on more clothes than I ever have to go to bed and to wake up cold, but WOW what an experience. The igloo and all the sculptures are just magical, it really is a feat of engineering....

My husband and I stayed at the ice hotel on 14th March. On arrival we were given a tour of the adjoining hotel which is beautiful and then taken inside the ice hotel where we slept. We booked through the cruise and probably would never have considered the experience if this trip hadn't been offered. (there were 8 of us...
