A very unique hotel that gets built every year in November and it melts away in April. Sleeping in the ice hotel at 24 deg F was awesome. Quite expensive though @ US$500/nite but it is a once in a life time experience worth every penny.

Although we did not stay at this hotel, it was a most fascinating short visit to see the ice sculptures and the interior decor of the igloo. We were given a sort introduction by the owner, Cnut, who explained that each year he takes the opportunity to change the design and the theme for his new masterpiece. It takes 4...

Ive never been at the Ice hotel before, and decided to go see what it was all about. Ive never been so amazed before - from the minute we stepped in, it was as if we were "in" the theme! Such an amazing view, and well worth the trip. Even if youre just going there to see. I highly recommend...

The Sorrisniva Igloo Ice Hotel is a novelty. It is created afresh each November and melts away in April the following year. Each year it has a new theme. This year 2016/2017 it is 'The Ice Age' with life-sized ice statues of extinct animals such as sabre-toothed tigers, mammoths, giant elk, ice age hunters as well as mythical beasts. Inside...

I went here by bus from Alta. This place is amazing, it is constucted from scratch every November or December and lasts until April. It then melts, so each year it is different. There are incredible ice sculptures within. The cost is quite high, for example from 2500 NOK per person per night, (Norway very expensive). Rooms are quite small and...

Unfriendly and angry receptionist ruined the experience. She got extremely angry because we didn't knew where to enter! Although, ice sculptures inside igloo hotel were amazing, she ruined our visit. Big minus for Sorrisniva, for employing such a rude staff!

There is permanent hotel on the same site, the igloo hotel is built in November/December and lasts until approximately April. A truly unique hotel built entirely of ice, the idea was, according to the owner, conceived some 13 years ago over a bottle of scotch. The inside of the hotel consists of various chambers which include 30+ bedrooms all with...

Slept in the igloo. It is cold so put on a sleeping bag in another sleeping back. They give out two bags per person. The sculpture in the igloo are amazing and intricate. Also do try out their in house activitie, my favourite is the snowmobile tour. Exhilarating!
