We weren't especially looking for an historic place to stay but ended up staying there a night anyway. It is well over a hundred years old and they are so proud of the fact that Hans Christian. Anderson often stayed there while in Silkeborg. Despite it's age it is nicely furnished, very clean and quite comfortable. It is right on... More

Okay, the town is really small and no matter where you stay you will be quite close to everything. But I like this one - it is in the middle of the old town right on the central square with all the pedestrian streets around. Most importantly for me, it is right next to the client which I occasionally visit,... More

Not bad for the price. Renovated, clean, comfortable, quiet and right in the center of town. Plenty of restaurants, parks, shopping, walking nearby. The hotel has a charm to it and the people who work there are incredibly nice. Breakfast in the morning was good. Eggs, bacon, cereals, fresh fruit, juices, coffee, etc. all served at the right temperature and... More

I stayed in this hotel Jan 13 whilst on a business trip. It is smack in the middle of the town and there are some restaurants and bars close by. The hotel is dated but clean the staff were very friendly and there's a typical continental breakfast. The rooms are a good size and have all the relevant amenities for... More

Whilst the hotel has just been renovated, the standard is not 4-star, as claimed, and the hotel is way overpriced. Good location, historic property - it's a shame that the hoteliers are not doing better with this property.

Indeed as many say an old, nice looking building in the middle of this town. Staff was friendly and spoke good English. My room was large; old style, old furniture, but clean The bathroom was outdated, but clean water and all worked. Wireless LAN was working and free-of-.charge (wired LAN somehow had to pay via the television ???) Breakfast was... More

I came to Silkeborg for a couple of business meetings and luckily only had to stay at the Hotel Dania for one night. Shabby and depressing is the best way to describe the hotel. From the outside, it certainly looks picturesque and the official 4-star rating gave me some comfort. That said, upon setting foot on the inside it is... More

Perfect inner city location - can't be more central. Very pretty hotel from the outside. The lady at the reception was very kind and they prepared kindly an early take-away breakfast. The hotel is very dated from the inside, would be a gem if done up, as it has great classic features. My room had a lovely view over the... More

The location is perfect, in the middle of the town centre. But the hotel needs a major facelift. It is totally run down. The rooms are old with signs of wear and tear.
