STF Storulvån is a unique mountain station with its remote location combined with its high service level. This is one of the best starting points (and finals as well) for the hiking beginner. You can easily get her by train, buss or car and then start your hiking in the Jämtland mountains, with tent or just walking from hut to...

Storulvan Mountain lodge has nice rooms with showers, testaurant, decent size shop, sauna and recreation area. It is an excellent starting area all seasons for trip in Sylan Mountains because you can drive to the lodge all year. Rooms can be booked at the swedish tourist forening (STF).

We stayed at Storulvån after hiking the Jämtland triangle. We were pleased with the lodging: rooms were ok (dorms are dorms), sauna was really nice, service was helpful. The cleaning of common areas could be better, though. The drain in one of the showers was clogged. The restaurant, however, could make a greater effort. Food was barely ok. Small helpings...

We stayed two nights to get prepared for the triangular hike to Sylarna, Blåhammaren and back. Convenient access by car to the hotell and directly you are in the mountain range. Nice day hikes to surrounding peaks. Food is so good, mostly local grown and/or organic, even beer from a nearby Microbrewery. Next opportunity we will be back for sure....

If you are interested in something other than getting to the top by lifts, Storulvån is a great place for various skiing activities in Scandinavia. Not far from alpine centers Åre and Duved, Storulvån offers a closer to nature experience. The hotel is nice, spacious, clean and is situated in the mountains. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. We were here...

We stayed in a tent outside the station so I can't speak for the rooms. However the staff was friendly and the breakfast was great! The public areas are good and we really enjoyed the sauna. It's a perfect starting point when going to sylarna or blahammaren.

Our goal for the day was to visit Gjetryggen by randonee skis. That was a great experience itself. Before and after, we visited this cabin. It looked to be a very nice hotel in the wilderness. The location is ideal for hiking, skiing, biking and probably also fishing. The first thing that came to mind was that I will bring...

I was there on July, what a beautiful surrounding and place, good food. From this station you have to walk around 16 Km to get to the Sylarna. I recommend this place to stay before you take a hiking adventure.

Storulvån is a nice mountain lodge style hut. We arrived just in time for dinner (3 courses) with beer and wine - a very good start on our trip. Breakfast with all options and a lunch "box" prepared by our selves (minus for the free peanut/raisin mix that was far to salty) . As usual all the Sweeds went to...

“Dormitory is a number of separate "rooms" along a corridor. Bunk beds and max 4 person per "room". Doors are just curtains - but still it offer some privacy - much better than what you usually get. Really "cheap" and ok alternative.”
