Stayed here in April 2000 on a romantic break. Hotel not to everyones taste, definately no modern or formica feel here. Steep yourself in an old coaching inn for a blast to the past. Long sweeping wooden staircase. Lovely staff, great rooms, comfy beds. Ignore the date of this review, it made such an impression in 2000 that now the...

..depending on your point of view, either characterful and quirky, or dated and dowdy...! ..from the outside its a lovely old coaching inn just on the edge of the town, ....our room was incredibly small though not without a certain charm. Sadly, the restaurant was closed, as was, it seemed, the rest of Beaumont-le-Roger - we eventually drove to nearby...

Had another lovely stay at the HOSTELLERIE DU LION D'OR! After staying in August last year. Perfect location on route from the Vendee to Calais, not far from the Autoroute. Had a lovely meal in the hotel's restaurant which provides superb quality food and a excellent value for money with a good diverse menu with regional specialities to the Basse...

Wonderful old coaching inn, with very modern recently refurbished room. The town is interesting with an old priory and church. The set menu in the restaurant was excellent, with delicious duck carved at the table, buffet breakfast was good. Both restaurant and hotel staff were attentive with great attention to detail.

Bad.The room was small, and the bathroom even smaller. Needed to be upgrade . Good Food was great and service got better as the day went on. Also good breakfast at a reasonable price Room was over priced at 85 euros. Should have been in the mid 50's

The 'welcome' and whole demeanour of the staff could do with re-training. A delicious dinner and contemporary room in what was undoubtedly an historic building was somewhat undermined by the attitude of those that ran and staffed the hotel. Lack of smiles and any real customer service let the positive aspects of the place down. A great pity when just...

We stayed at this hotel overnight on our journey to Limousin. The room prices were excellent (67 euro for a family room) and previous reviews very positive. I'm happy to say it was a good choice. The hotel itself is quite an old building and had a 'Harry Potter' feel, according to my son, with winding wooden staircases and interesting...

Overnight on trip south to Charente. Room small but comfortable and great value in old coaching inn in quiet Normandy town. Very high quality meal taken in leafy courtyard with young goat wandering amongst the tables! Thoroughly recommended.
