I knew that the five-day cruise of the African Queen on the Thames was exactly what I’d been looking for but it was even better than I could have imagined, entertaining and relaxing and companionable. I loved the whole experience. The team – owners Bonnie and Andy and assistants Liza and Gabriel – were all marvellous. The first night set...

We have just returned from a five day trip on the African Queen and it was a unique and delightful experience. I had no idea what to expect, the attraction for me was the name of the barge - African Queen. I can honestly say it was one of the most relaxing holidays I have been on. The accommodation was...

I was a little bit uncertain due to the size of the ship as to whether I would be OK. My minor fear were quite groundless. It was a fantastic way to cruise up and down the Thames. The owners/hosts Bonnie & Andy were superb as were the kitchen/waiting staff of Gabriel and Liza. The food was quite amazing, the...

I have just returned from my second cruise on the African Queen. This barge never fails to please,, the whole experience was better than my previous cruise last year. The barge has quirky charm, a wonderful crew, superb food and cosy cabins. Bonney and Skipper Andy have once again exceeded expectation by providing a relaxing scenic cruise through 'Wind in...

Our 5 days of sailing on the African Queen barge along the Thames were really very good fun. The weather was generally kind to our group of 13 to enjoy the river cruising outside on deck and to explore the places at our numerous stops. Space was at a premium but this expectation when booking originally, did not put us...

Recently enjoyed a visit on this floating hotel with a group of friends. A totally different holiday enjoying wonderful scenery and taking in the local sights. All food was well prepared and served by the crew. Visited several quant and interesting villages and was never in any rush. Cabins may be a bit small but that is to be expected...

We both enjoyed our Thames holiday on the African Queen. The food was very good and not surprisingly the cabins and bathroom were small. The arrangements for the 5 days worked well and we had good company.

Wasn't sure what we were in for but this trip more than came up to our expectations. Lovely old barge , nicely furnished, ably handled by owner Andy. Bonnie his wife worked hard in the background. All the food served on board was excellent. As everyone mentions her first night Cape Malay dinner was wonderful. She keeps a seasoned eye...
