Four nights of bliss, no net, no phone, Harry the dog , good pubs and a microbrewery just down the road. We couldn't have been better looked after by the lovely landlady. I can't actually describe how great this place is. We were made to feel so welcome, by the whole village it felt. I feel like we've been there...

What an absolute gem in the Peaks. We arrived to a lovely friendly welcome in an immaculate bed and breakfast. A characterful cottage with all the amenities you could wish for. Alison was a great hostess with the best breakfasts we have ever had, good quality food from the local vicinity. Nothing was too much trouble and of course little...

We stayed here for two nights whilst visiting the Peak District. It is not far to anywhere, so a very good location to base yourself whilst seeing the sights. The bed was comfortable. The sitting room has a cosy feel. Excellent breakfast and nice speedy wifi. There is no separate shower, so for those of us who only ever use...

Poppy Cottage is a wonderful little haven owned by a wonderful lady with an equally wonderful dog called Harry. It is tucked away off the main street in Birchover, a quiet little village very near Bakewell and only 15 minutes drive fro Chatsworth. It doesn't have a shop, but it has 2 excellent Pubs within a few minutes walk from...

An unusual set-up with your own front door, downstairs lounge, upstairs bedroom(s) and large spotless bathroom - all independent but with the added bonus that your hostess comes through in the morning with the most delicious breakfast including luscious fruit salad, non-greasy bacon and home-made bread. We appreciated the friendly conversation and a wonderful collection of interesting books. Birchover is...

We had a fantastic 2 night stay here. Alison's hospitality could not be faulted, delicious breakfast with plenty of choice, very comfortable beds. It was lovely to have all the additional space, it meant that my daughter and I could have a bedroom each, and a sitting room! Fantastic area, beautiful scenery all meant that we have a wonderful, relaxing...

We loved our stay here and two days were just not enough! Comfortable, beautifully furnished cottage with cosy private lounge and open fire. Well located in the Peaks for walking and cycling, plus two good foody pubs within easy walking distance in the village. With two double bedrooms, a large bathroom and the private living area, it's perfect for friends...

The cottage is set in the heart of the village of Birchover. A very old charming stone-built cottage with a dining/living room downstairs (with a TV and a lovely fireplace ready to light in the evenings if desired) and 2 bedrooms and a spacious bathroom upstairs. Alison had a completely separate living space, part of which was the kitchen where...

Super stay at Poppy Cottage. So much space for the family and having a full sized bathroom was such a bonus. Lovely homemade breakfast, fluffy towels and really clean. Harry the dog is really good for children. Good location, and would recommend the Druid inn for really tasty food at great price. Would definitely stay again.

Set high up in the village of Birchover, Poppy Cottage bed and breakfast is a wonderful place to stay whatever the weather. Although we can accommodate up to four guests, we never take more than one booking at a time so that you can enjoy complete privacy during your stay.Tucked away in its secluded gardens, just behind Main Street, Poppy Cottage is a perfect hideaway for those who prefer to base themselves in the peace and quiet of a small village. Built over 200 years ago from Birchover stone, much of its charm is in its rambling quirkiness. We are a small family run Bed and Breakfast, providing a high standard of hospitality for our guests and we will do everything we possibly can to make your stay with us as perfect as it can be.In the Peak District National Park and at the foot of Stanton Moor, Birchover is surrounded by beautiful open countryside. The many footpaths and trails make this a wonderful place for walkers and cyclists alike.Straight from our front door there are marvellous walks in endless directions for those of you who don't want to use your cars. Stanton Moor, site of a large Bronze Age burial ground is just a few minutes walk away. The views from the Trig Point are a breathtaking 360 degrees.
