Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a beautiful location. Our site was by the river, so tranquil. Fire in the drum at night or during the day made for a great atmosphere. Can’t wait to return. Be aware there is no phone signal or internet but a few days off grid is quite liberating. Hosts are helpful when parking your van and it will be even better when covid settles and the little cafe’ on-site opens again.

Camping spots right next to Tarra river, the park has good communal facilities for campers. Yummy scones with jam and cream from the cafe. The Owners very friendly and helpful. Would recommend a stay.

I had a wonderful stay at Tarra Valley Retreat caravan park. The staff, especially Deb, were incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. The facilities were well-maintained and clean, and being located next to Bulga National Park was a definite highlight, offering stunning natural surroundings. The only drawback was that the sites felt a bit small, but overall, it was a great experience. I look forward to visiting again!

Venue cancelled half the booking 24hrs before trip. A group of us was going to celebrate a friends 50th & we were informed the day before arrival they had double booked & no-one had accommodation for the Friday night. The bulk of our 14 strong group was due to arrive on Thursday. Local spit roasts & cake had been ordered, local pub booked, interstate & overseas guests. Pretty much ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing celebration. Venue obviously prioritized one booking over another & had been communicating positively up to the Tuesday but then gave an alternative 400km away. Not good enough

The Tarra Valley Caravan Park "Fernholme" is situated in lush temperate rain forest where there is no mobile reception. The morning alarm is the sound of the birds and the evening is filled with the smoke from the fires at the campsites. Reminiscient of camping in a past age. The park is a very short drive to two waterfalls and the Tarra Bulga Natinal Park.
David (the owner) is extremely friendly and will go out of his way to make sure you enjoy your stay. The facilities are vey clean and well maintained. We will definitely try and come back to stay again.

We (couple) stayed in the Wombat cabin which was very comfortable and clean. Well equipped kitchenette. A wood heater kept us nice and warm. Good shower. Location is lovely, tucked away in a beautiful, quiet valley. The drive in from the National Park is beautiful too. Checkin staff were friendly and pleasant.

Hidden away between Balook and Yarram, there are two roads that lead into Fernholme. If you’re anxious about small roads, or have a heavy load, then best you come in via Yarram.
Peaceful surroundings with the river meandering past the caravan park.
Enjoy some scones and tea surrounded by the beauty of nature.

We were invited to a 50th this Friday... leaving today.

Planned for months, multiple confirmation emails from property , including calls yesterday - international guests, people rented vans, catering... 3 hours before Checkin owners lackey called our hosts and cancelled our trip. Don't go, complete joke. Ruined and our family can no longer get accom anywhere last minute.

Owner didnt event have the decency to call our hosts himself to explain.

Who stays at places run but gronks like this ?

Lovely little caravan/cabin park in the middle of spectacular bushland. Nice and peaceful, no phone service but there is a pay phone
Excellent customer service, clean facilities and cool camp kitchen with open fireplace.
Plenty of wildlife on the windy road in.
