Our family had a wonderful time at Anathaya Beach. Gayan and his crew were very attentive to our requests on changing the time for breakfast and dinners. We all felt well taken care. I wish they have more local dishes in their menu. The chef was very willing to provide us local dinners going out of their way.
Where to start... It was exceptional from beginning to end. Beautiful location Incredible sunrise Lovely rooms Fantastic spa Great pool Perfect beach Delicious food Good wine Best of all were the staff. Friendly, flexible and accommodating. They literally couldn’t try any harder to make your stay as special as possible. Big shout out to Samith. Wouldn’t have been the same without him. We will be back one day!
Hotel is located close to the beach. Clean and spacious rooms with a nice pool. We had the chance to pull a fishing net while walking on the beach. Very delicious Sri Lankan breakfast included with the booking, but food from their menu is very expensive. Helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
We were expecting more from this place. For the price you pay, I dont feel there is much value, in relation to rooms, facilities and location. The rooms are on two floors, with private balconies/patios. We got a room on the ground floor and there is almost no sea view possible. A bit annoying, in the fact that the prices seem to be the same for ground floor, vs 1st floor. Where the view is far superior from those balconies, than the ground floor.. So it's a matter of luck and availability, as to what room you get and albeit a much nicer view/experience. So maybe they should have a better price tier for the different floors and charge less for ground floor and people wont feel like they have lost out. So the location if the property is fairly remote. There is literally no other options for food (unless go for a long and difficult walk which cant do at night, or get tuk tuk). I feel like the owner/staff know this, so they kind of extort you for food costs and transport, as there isnt much choice. The pool itself is nice enough. The hotel is not on the beach as such. You do have to walk down to it (via some steps and some track) and it's not an appealing beach. It's full of fishing boats and a scattering of litter. For the nice beach of rekawa (which it is nice), you have to walk about half an hour and through narrow, remote tracks. Or get overcharged for a tuk tuk. We didnt eat dinner at the restraunt, as we were put out by the high cost of basic food. Also there was zero ambiance or appeal to sitting in thier restaraunt. Didnt even bother to have the included breakfast. We dont eat meat, eggs or dairy and when we asked of they could make something for us, they pretty much offered dry toast. Which just speaks to thier lack of creativity and lack of willingness to work around the guest. It's not like they didnt have the ingredients to make something up, as they have a kitchen that serves a variety of food for lunch and dinner. I imagine if we were paying for it (as opposed to it being included), they might have done more. Rooms are clean, but simple. Comfortable bed, with a net over it . Basic bathroom, that prob needs an update for the prices charged. Staff are fairly indifferent and not much enthusiasm for guests, compared to the hospitality, that have experienced in sri Lanka. …
If you seek a beautiful, really relaxing place. This is it! Lovely villa of your own, with a big terrace that is all yours.Great food, good wifi, infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Friendly and helpful staff. My favourite thing to do was to get massage. Phetum in the SPA was the best ayurevedic masseur I have ever had. And I have had many!!!! I fullheartedly recommend this place for anyone feeling the slightest stress, this is a place for the soul. I loved it!
