We were booked in for Sunday Lunch, a group of 24 adults 5 children and a small dog. We had a friendly welcome and despite a few changes due to illness the staff were courteous and helpful. The food was top notch having a choice of traditional roast dinners plus a full menu and specials. I had lamb with an...

We had stayed at the Church Inn around 7 or 8 years ago and have since dropped in for the occasional lunch time meal, so decided we should go back again for a few days. Great value, during the winter months they do 3 nights for the price of 2. The rooms have been refurbished since we last went and...

A rainy caravan weekend in Derbyshire, decided to pop in for Friday tea. Good choice. The food was delicious and filling. Had the Guinness stew with stilton dumpling. Was going to try dessert but too full. Reasonably priced and friendly staff. Definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area. Good choice on the menu and of beers too.

Thank you for your comments, glad you enjoyed your visit to the pub. The beef is one of our more popular dishes! Hope to see you again soon, hopefully when the weather is a bit better.

Got a recommendation to visit here and although its a bit out of the way it was worth a visit. Plenty of choice for food and drink - small menu but plenty of specials. Food was well cooked, and for Sunday lunch focused on the meat rather than the vegetables that were a bit of an afterthought! It can get...

We have been visiting this traditional village inn for several years and are happy to travel the 4 miles or so to eat here. Although we have never stayed at the Church Inn, we have spoken to many satisfied guests. But, back to the pub. Firstly, I'm reliably informed that the beers are good and I can vouch for the...

Quite busy with lunch time diners to say its out of the way with street parking, BUT it obviously has a good reputation for beer, good food and pleasant landlord and staff. Can certainly reccommend this pub.

Cracking beer and food! Not to prettiest pub inside...BUT it's everything a country pub should be! Food is basic in title but all excellent quality! Scampi and chips at their finest! The selection of ales is good and they are kept very well!!! Lovely staff and dog friendly! Great!!!!! Will return.

Visited here for the first time {we had walked past before years ago} whilst walking and had some beers and food at lunchtime. We instantly liked the look of the interior, the real fire, the lounge side and the bar side of the bar, and the low ceilings and warm décor. Good range of well kept beers, and the food...

Excellent ambience with great vegetarian options on the Christmas menu. All food was home cooked including the mince pies and served by very polite young waiting staff on very hot plates. Very good value and very welcoming to the two dogs with our party who enjoyed their sausages.
