This was a welcome rest. The host didn't speak much English but was very welcoming and as helpful as possible. The pool was great after a long drive. We ate a good dinner at the Hotel at the bottom of the drive looking out onto the Douro. There is also a restaurant across the road but it was too expensive for...

This 16 century converted farmhouse was a pleasant treat. The owner who doesn't speak English was welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed the home made port. The rooms boast great views as does the pool area. The breakfast of home made produce was simple and delicious. Over breakfast we shared travel stories with other travellers at the long kitchen table. Peaceful...

Quinta Da Azenha is a very charming and impressive building. Both large windows from our bedroom and the bathroom offered a great view. This gets even better when climbing the stairs alongside the building to the pool in the vineyard. Arriving there on a lovely day in August we spent all afternoon taking a refreshing bath in the pool and...

What a gem. A charming place overlooking the Duoro valley. No wifi and spotty cell service but otherwise excellent amenities. Nice pool overlooking the valley and the mini bar in the room were a pleasant surprise especially the lower than supermarket prices on beer, bottles of wine and mineral water. Very nice breakfast in the family kitchen. The whole thing...

The quinta is a great place to stay in the Douro vally. The house is very nicely decorated and the view from our window to the river and vally was very relaxing. Our room was quite small but very clean. The homemade breakfast was amasing with a veriety of choices, even packed us sandviches for lunch. The owner was very...

It is quite impressive to stay in a Manor House, mostly in the Douro Valley, within walking distance to the river. It is a great spot for a retreat, short holiday or a long weekeng. There is a swimming pool with a great view over the Douro valley, very helpful in warmer days. Home made breakfasts are amazing, plenty of...

A nice, cosy place to stay; really like staying at someone's home. The host was very nice and ready to answer any questions. My husband and I wanted just to relax (especially after spending the day driving the narrow and winding roads) and the place was perfect for that, especially by the pool, taking in the scenery! We had a...
