Amazing little campsite! Great little community pool which is run by volunteers from the village and nearby. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and made sure that we were happy with both the pool and camping facilities. Swimming in the heated pool in the sun after a long bike ride was very welcome! There are two showers and two loos both kept very clean, as long as everybody mops the floor afterwards with the mop provided. The camping was very quite with just 10 pitches and alongside the river Eden. Great for bird watching and bat watching in the evening. We will definitely return.

While the location of the campsite was in a very good location and it was very quiet the actual campsite was not amazing. The ground was very hard to peg into as it was solid after 2 inches of grass. We were told off for using the campsite toilets as there was a swimming lesson in the pool and the children may be using the facilities. However there was no sign to instruct us otherwise. The pool was not accessible by guests ‘due to COVID’ but had other users the entire duration we were visiting.

Room Tip:Check the ground before placing your tent as it was too solid to fully insert pegs

Booked through pitchup.com (my new favourite website btw!). Reasonably priced. Came with our 2 year old grandson for a couple of nights in the tourer. Secluded & quiet. Lovely views. Toilet block clean & tidy although wouldn't have liked to walk to it during the night! Kids play area great. Outdoor pool was ok, clean & well kept but thought that kids under 5 should be free not under 2. Lovely riverside view and walks. Pretty village too. We will be back.

The campsite is the smallest I've been too, it is set in beautiful scenery however, our trip was ruined by constant flooding in our tent, we have a ground sheet plus the tent floor and carpet and still we had puddles in the tent. There is no markings on where to pitch and have seen 4/5 cars parking where the tents should be. The toilets and showers aren't the best. Swimming pool is freezing. Be aware of ticks in the grass too, my son had 2 in the space of 3 days. As it is run by volunteers there is no guidance on check in or out which is a little unusual for a campsite. If your looking for a secluded spot this is the site for you.

Had a problem with our booking (our fault) but the site were very quick and helpful in resolving our issue which they were not obliged to do. Very happy with the service we received and very much looking forward to staying in the future.

A very intimate site with ten pitches... end of season so very few campers. Pool (according to PITCHUP) was open for the duration when we booked it however it closed last weekend which is disappointing but cest la vie. Only niggle I have is the facilities are not on the doorstep and they are limited especially as they are shared with the pool.
Great for kids with an excellent playground and its ideal for dog walkers as it's right besides the River Eden and you can walk for miles!

We booked last minute on pitchup.com and got it at a great price with EHU arrived on the monday only 2 out of 10other pitches up already. We found a perfect spot right by the river. Had the best time ever so beautiful so peaceful. The ground was grass soft and level. Amenities where the heated outdoor pool which looked amazing but we didnt take our swimming stuff...gutted! Theres a childrens play area and football pitch next to the pool. The 2 pubs where always but there is a coop 5 mins walk from the site. In the next village of kirkoswald there are a couple of pubs who do food you really need to visit the featherstone for pie night on a thursday, best homemade pie weve ever tasted. We went into carlisle which is half an hours drive with beautiful views you should see deer. Visit the carlisle castle its fantastic history. Could not fault this place is so quaint and beautiful. Although the wildlife is a bit nosey at night but we didn't mind that. I wouldnt say there is enough to do for kids at this village they may get bored. But a must if you want a heavenly quiet camp.

Beautiful small campsite, park outdoor heated pool, co op. down the road showers and wash facilities. Small walk down the river which can apparently lead to caves which we didn't make it too. Lovely and clean and fantastic location we will be back thank you

Small campsite. Just open over summer. Great playground and swimming pool. Lovely for walks along the Eden. 2 great pubs. Coop up road - Fresh baked products - has small camp/picnic section - got most food etc products. Facilities - you use swimming pool toilets and showers. Small washing up area. I would only camp there for 3 or so days... need to be a hardener camper to do more. But play area, swimming pool, shop and pubs, not to forget beautiful views make up for having to use swimming pool changing area Toliets.
