A very pleasant place to stay when birding and sight seeing in Kaeng Krachen NP. We stayed in a reasonable rooms with a good shower a short stroll to the restaurant in quite spacious grounds. The Thai food was good, if straightforward and they would happily prepare breakfast early for dawn starts in the nearby National Park. The staff were...

We stayed in Baan Maka for just 1 night en route to Kaen Krachang. The Bungalow is good, the food is good and the staff is friendly. But the place lacks a special feeling, it feels a bit ordinary. The property is pretty small, the views from the bungalows are not spectacular, the staff is not extremely friendly etc. That's...

Our group of 6 stayed at Baan Maka for 5 nights in early January to be close to Kaeng Krachan NP. Two of us stayed in the very recently completed 2 bed chalet that overlooked the lake whilst the other 4 stayed in 2 other chalets closer to the restaurant. Our room was excellent, it looked as though it had...

Lovely hideaway near the park entrance. Clean comfortable beds in a charming chalet (a/c) with your own private front porch in the midst of nature. Food is good at their restaurant. Staff friendly and helpful - very accommodating and will book tours to suit your vacation.

We stayed one night for a weekend break. The property is packed with beautiful surroundings and quiet. We are not the bird watchers yet saw a family of hornbills without any effort on the next morning. The staffs and owner are very helpful. I would definitely go again. Note: There is no reading lamp. Weak mobile and wifi signal. Great...

This is an out of the way special place to visit. For my wife and I it was a welcome change from the urban experience we had in Bangkok. The facilities are a little primitive but that is what you would expect at a place like this. We had air conditioning, hot water and a sit down toilet. Food was...

Baan Maka is in the most beautiful location. The grounds go on and on. We dearly wished we could have had an extra day on our birding trip to Thailand just to wander around here with our bins and cameras. The chalets are rather basic, but clean, as is the bathroom. Wifi is a bit hit and miss, and only...

I would highlight how Baan Maka, through his owner Goong, helped me to plan a whole birdwatching stay in Kaeng krachan. The provided everything I needed: transfer in and out from Bangkok, accomodation, food, and above all, a good birdwatching guide (Mr Piak) and good advice about where to go (including the hides, specially Ling Sun). Room was no frillls...

My wife and I spent two lovely nights at the Baanmaka Chalet Resort. Staff were friendly, food good, costs reasonable, clean, cabins had air conditioning, and Wi-Fi was adequate in the restaurant area – really no problems, although internet access was not a priority while birding and enjoying nature. We will highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in...

I really enjoyed my two night stay at Baan Maka Chalet. The grounds are beautiful, lots of shady places to sit overlooking a gorgeous lily pond/lake where I saw three different species of kingfishers. It is popular with groups of birdwatchers. Trips into the jungle or to waterfalls can be organised by Gunn, the owner. My room was clean and...
