On arrival the welcome was not warm, the room could do with a bit more security.the room was a bit dingy,we had a room on the river which had a lovely balcony actually on the river. The pools (there are at least 3)were both ok but our hotel was virtually empty and that meant most of the amenities weren’t staffed.as a jungle location expect to need bug spray in the evenings. You will have to eat at this resort as it’s a long way away from anything else.If you have limited mobility you would struggle at this location, lots of steps and uneven areas. I did however get one of the funniest moments of the holiday when a larger gentleman and a lady were told to change their seats for more robust ones in the restaraunt 😀

We had rooms in the annex. Very nice. The whole complex is very well maintained. Staff friendly and very attentive. Dinner a la carte was very good, as was breakfast. We were unfortunately only here one night as part of a round trip.

Reception staff were worse and unfriendly, their attitude was “I don’t was to be bothered to dealing with you”.
the price was extremely expensive compared with what you get from this hotel, the price of the food in comparison to the quality was abysmal.
I have never been in a hotel before which had a sliding wooden panel in the bedroom which, when opened, allowed you to see straight into the shower room!!!! The light in this area, instead of coming on when the panel was open, was on ALL night long & shined a light into the bedroom around the edges of the closed panel. A simple faulty switch fix which hadn’t been done & which is a simple example of the standards that seem to have slipped.

What great rooms. Huge terrace on the river. When a big boat comes by, your room wobbles. The room is also huge and fully equipped. Bathroom fine. Super large swimming pool with slide. The only downside is the trip up every time for breakfast, etc. Breakfast was delicious. Would love to go here again. The resort even has a waterfall. A truly super tropical experience

Really great hotel. Located at famous River Kwai in a jungle like area. We booked the floating rooms on the river. Unique experience. And highly recommended. The included breakfast was not as well as expected, but still good… The staff was very nice and helpful.

We stayed in a raft cabin. Other accomodation may have been different.
A summary of our experience here:
Parking: Good, Check-in: Good, Bell Boy: Excellent, Room: Smelly and decrepit, Bed: Comfortable, Bedding: Immaculate, Terrace: Eyesore, Decorative Flora: Dead, View across river: Most unspectacular, View upriver: Junkyard, View downriver: Junkyard, Wifi: Unserviceable, Ambience: Excessive noise and wash pollution from boats, Bridge to rafts: Tricky, Walk (& Climb) to restaurant: Arduous, Food: Mediocre
Thank goodness we had only booked in for one night.

I admit, the raft room was pretty darn cool (even without AC, we slept great directly on the water) & the pool was very nice (jungle surrounding the pool, with a waterfall), but this hotel is not good overall. In the late evening hours & early morning hours (starting around 7am!), motor boats kept going back and forth outside our raft, rocking it back and forth. We actually didn't mind the rocking, but these motors were painfully loud & the raft is basically a hut on the water, so not soundproof in any way. No AC, but there is a fan (which was fine for us) & the bathroom is very minimalist, basically draining the shower into the river. We actually enjoyed these rougher aspects of the raft room, but be warned those who need luxury. It is very far (almost 2 hours) out of the way from the River Kwai Bridge. The in-house Thai massage was not great, but the foot massage was decent. No internet access or ATM (closest ATM is at a bank 10 mins drive away). Weird vibe in the whole place, but be sure to check out the local onyx jewelry in the odd-placed little counter in the lobby - there's some cool stuff. Sadly, the dinner & breakfast were completely inedible - I actually could not eat it. Greasy, tough, or watery - the absolute worst food we were offered in our whole Thailand trip & there's nothing else nearby to walk to, so you either have to eat it, or don't eat at all. Restaurant staff were cranky, but front desk staff were helpful. The crowd when we were there, was primarily older European tour groups. The disco next to the dining room is hysterically kitch, major cheese factor. The whole place is slightly surreal, in a Dirty Dancing summer-camp in Thailand sort of way. If I go back to the area, I will find a raft hut at another hotel, or bring my own meals.

This was a great place to stay! a bit basic, but very clean and beautiful staff (except for the lady boy at the front counter!- he was quite rude and very unhelpful.) Rawi and friends in the resturant are awesome!!! loved the Mon dancing each night! This is a great location for people to stay if they are wanting to see Hellfire pass, and other historical sights, there is plently to do in and around the place! Would go back again, perhaps when there arent as many rude Russians.

OK the hotel is right on the banks of the River and it rains alot! so the damp smell in the room and the damp bed linen i can understand. The wiring in the room is a bit worrying and our wardrode door was hanging off lol.I have traveled a lot and stayed in many hotels but this hotel has to be the worst for the food, disgusting, cold,i'm a good eater and not much puts me off but this was the pits!!!! I left everything, would rather go hungry than eat that trip.Funny thing is the Russians seemed to love it,they filled their plates like there was no tomorrow ha! the manager noticed we wasn't eating and asked us if he could cook us something fresh,so he knew it wasn't to British standard, but we declined and made a hasty retreat to the bar.Which we had a good night at,plenty of dancing from all nationalities, very funny!! The Hotel is what it is and it in the perfect place, just needs upgrading.TAKE SOME SANDWICHES!!!! LOL
