Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This little boutique resort allowed me the peaceful and wonderful 2 night stay. My room, a deluxe King (no 1), offered a terrific river view, large space, great facilities and very comfy. Staffs are very kind and attention to details. Food was simple but just great. The resort located near by the famous Tham Kra Sae train station which I enjoyed jogging in the morning there. I would recommend this place for any traveler who seek for simple life, peaceful stay without any party or undesirable noise.

A small bnb about 40km from the city of Kanchanaburi. The river is beautiful and the view stunning. The nature is so rich in that area there are not many restuarants or sites nearby so it's better if you have a car. There's a restuarant that opens for lunch and dinner. Room is small and cosy.

Off the Beaten Path. Quiet and Serene. Nestled on a Hillside above River Kwai. Clean Rooms. Small, yet comfortable Pool Very tasty and quality breakfast. A Cacti and Succulent Paradise. The owner is very friendly and informative. Good pricing.

Visited Last: July 2015 If you want to escape the crazy city life or the traffic-resort life of children screaming come here! The drive firstly (as driving is your only bet) is a beautiful trip through the curvy mountain roads. There is a moment when your phone service will disconnect because of the location, which indicates you are getting close. The drive into the resort is a bit rough, the road is cracked gravel but beautiful nonetheless. The rooms are great, literally right in front of the river. Please do not go into the river directly as the current is very strong. I, a 80 KG male attempted it and it almost took me to Burma. They do have a little pocket deck built for this purpose so please swim in that. On top of that they have a swimming pool! The food needs to be ordered in advance as they need to go and collect the ingredients. Please do try one of the steaks there, the portions are amazing and the taste is excellent. Would only suggest keeping the food a little hot because I felt like it was cooked in advance and it sat out. Overall - The ambiance is amazing. Nature, birds, water… - The service and team is great. Very kind. - Room suggestion – Villa 9 (it is right by the river), except it has a little corner where anyone standing on the patio may see inside (very unlikely). If there is anything else you want to know drop me a message!

We travelled here at Christmas for a quiet getaway. We had a very nice and relaxing stay. The staff are very friendly and welcoming which made the stay even better. We stayed in villa 2 which had amazing river views, very large room and different options for chilling out. We could have stayed there for weeks. At night the place is very quiet with different places to sit out and enjoy the stars or night sky. The location of the hotel is close to the most famous section of the death railway at Tham Krasae. The internet access and facilities are good. The food was OK, but it is also recommended to be prepared to go outside if you are looking for more variety than the limited menu. The American breakfast was OK, but is the same everyday. It would be difficult to stay at this place without your own vehicle and it was a bit hard to find. It is recommended to get the number of the hotel to call in case you get lost on your way there. Overall, really love this place and will be back! The view, rooms and peaceful location can't be beat at this price range.

My friend and I stayed at Pingplalee Resort, Kanchanaburi in December 2013. Though it's a small resort but it's beautiful and wonderful place to stay. If you want to relax and stay away from the noisy or your work life, this is a place that you should consider. We chose to stayed at room number. 9 to enjoy the river view in day time and sky view at night. It's romantic place to emerge ourselves into the nature. The room is clean and comfortable. The hospitality was great The owners and their staff are friendly. The breakfast and dinner were great but they don't have a number of choices for you to select. We both enjoyed our time and would stay there again. Pan Ch. BKK

If you want to avoid the busy, touristy crowds and you want to enjoy a quiet, remote stay by the river, then this is the place to be. We had a river-view room with our own terrace. I would book it again! The staff is extremely helpful and nicely concerned about your wellbeing. In their website they state a lot of "don'ts", which might leave the impression of being over-regulated, but at the end it makes sense and guarantees you to enjoy a quiet, clean, non-touristy stay. I particularly liked the very small river-swimming-pool (which enables you to swim in the river despite its very strong current), and a lot of "salas" or terraces to choose for lounging nearby the river. The only "negative" point is the food menu of the restaurant, which offers only westernized food and not really delectable for western palate. However, we will come back for the room and terrace.

Pingpalee is a HIP resort hotel that is located in a great location with the best river view at Kwai Noi, Kanchanaburi. The resort has a very pleasant atmosphere, tranquil and surrounded by a green forest. Pingpalee has a limited number of rooms but each room has a different decoration and its own charm to suit the individual. Our group stayed at Villa 1, 8 and 9, each of which has a river view, an outdoor bathroom and a balcony for relaxation. The rooms are very nice, clean and spacious. If you like to have your own private swimming pool, you can also book the Pool Villa, which has 2 bed rooms connected to each other. But they also have forest or garden view rooms if you prefer. The food is delicious! Excellent services and warm hospitality from the resort owners. The resort also has karaoke room if you want to practice your singing or if you like to work out, the resort also has weight equipment available. Overall, we recommend Pingpalee and you will absolutely fall in love with it! All photos you see on the website are the same as ones you will see at Pingpalee. We guarantee…

The Resort is on a quiet corner of the river. The feeling of peace and relaxation is immediate from check-in. The check-in process was more of a hello over a cup of tea and some cookies and then we were taken to our room. Everything was as expected with many things being better than expected. Some examples were the free Wi-Fi internet, dinner cooked exactly to requirement and the very gentle and thoughtful service. On the subject of food; the Mushroom soup, many people report is excellent and we ordered pork steak, which was also cooked very well, and was tender and delicious. One point is that you need to order your food a number of hours in advance and you cannot change your order at the last minute. That didn't worry me or my family. The resort is a beautiful place and the design of the villas is very thoughtful, with a great attention to detail. The first photo I have added was a shot I took from the front door of the villa, just after I woke up.
