Hotel environment itself is awesome with relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately, 4 big-bike guests next door were annoying, making loud noise and drinking until next morning. Because of poor soundproofing, I needed to put my earplugs in all night otherwise I was unable to sleep at all. I wish I could just chill and take some fresh air on nice little balcony but they keep playing dance music and smoking in early morning. I ended up with checking out as soon as finishing my breakfast. My recommendation is to avoid wooden standard raft, go for deluxe one. It seems much nicer. stayed on 27 June 2020

Waking up to the lapping of the River Kwai beneath my room and the morning jungle chorus was quite something. I arrived quite late, around 9pm, which meant the restaurant had already closed. As the hotel is quite isolate [which is the whole point] dinner was snacks and cold beer from the vending machine; disappointing at the time but subsequently fortuitous. Check-in was a breeze; the staff very welcoming. A porter took my luggage and guided me down the rather steep hill, across the bridge from land to rafts and into my room. The room was rather more luxurious than I had expected. The bed was ginormous! The balcony looked out onto the river, with steps down to the river itself. On the balcony was a plastic jacuzzi - bubbles supplied - which made me feel somewhat cheated. It certainly didn't seem in keeping with the back to the jungle theme. However, succumbing to its temptation, sitting in the jacuzzi, lights out, cold beer in hand, listening to the jungle chorus was, in fact, a very relaxing way to end a long day on the road. It was also the perfect prelude to one of the best night's sleep I've ever had - not sure if that was due to the most comfortable bed ever or the lapping of the river beneath? No need for a modern day alarm clock here. At day break, the jungle burst in to a cacophony of sound. Morning coffee on the balcony in the relatively cool morning air filled with the sounds of nature was a blissful start to the day. CAUTION: The river current was ferocious. Although buoyancy aids were supplied, despite being an extremely strong and competent swimmer, I would not have swam in that current. However, it was the height of the wet season.

a room on raft on a river- attracted by the arranged lift from Nam Tok station (too far to walk and the female driver was a hoot). No shops or facilities near by but the restaurant serves good Thai food. The room has a/c and excellent wifi. The walls are thin attap and the bed comfortable. A fridge (beer available) and a kettle for tea/coffee with chairs over teh water. The room moves gently with the current and more undulating with the passage of swallow tailed boats. There is availabe a taxi to a water fall, Hellfire Museum (the reason I went) and rafting. Watched the rafts drift past, kids in the water with lifejackets, adults swimming and laughing. Dawn and dusk the birdlife flashed past as the sun rose and fell over the gully. Sitting on the deck by the bedroom watching water traffic pass and herons fishing was soothing. Yes its can be pricey (check time of year) and the shower etc dumps into the river, this is Asia and it is jungle country, not a p/c Eu city. The tiny guardian lizard on the wall indicated NO toxic insecticides used. The staff struggled with English, but a patient smile, hand signals and laughter gets anything fixed. This place was magic for a few days to wind down and read or write and for the magic, I will go again.
