This place is great value for money. Staff is super nice and makes you feel welcome. The dogs are almost too cute, couldn't resist my welcome squad every time I went out or came back to here. <3 Cabins are basic and clean, equipped with towels and nice bedding. I had TV but didn't open it. Decor was lodgy and nice. At night time you can hear lots of nature sounds, no traffic at all. Everything is close, 10 mins by tuktuk to K-buri bus station. Few minutes walk to main street where you can get a bus to Erawan or further. Really love this place and it was recommended by my Finnish and German friends so it was easy to make the choice. Hope to see you soon again!
As two backpackers travelling mid-budget we found this a great little place to stay. The bungalow we stayed in was over a lake/pond area which I really liked lots of wildlife around too (not great if you don’t like bugs/lizards.) Never had any problems with insects in the room. The rooms were pretty basic: no fridge, safe etc. And no WiFi in the bedrooms as advertised. (This didn’t really bother us though as it was available in the bar/lobby area which is literally a minute tops from the bungalows.) Air-conditioning worked extremely well. Shower and bathroom were fine with hot water and the room itself was satisfactory for our 3 night stay. The resort is located right on a strip of bars and restaurants that serve some amazing food. There is also a Pharmacist and a 7/11 right around the corner which was great. The owners were helpful and had some very sociable dogs which I didn’t mind in the slightest 😊 Would stay here again! …
Here for Anzac Day tomorrow, cheap, clean, air co works and water is hot. Food and bars all close. Older but tidy, if you want the Hilton go there. Would stay again. Nothing more to add it's simple and quiet.
We arrived in Kanchanaburi to spend two days at ElephantsWorld. Sam's House is rudimentary, a little hard to find off the street, but you get what you pay for. Rooms were clean. Western toilet. Would stay here again :)
Traveling with a family of 5 can be challenging and keeping the balance between cost and function is always a struggle...Wanting to show our children that all the world is not a 5-star hotel room, I booked us into Sam's Guest House. Now, we did not stay in the jungle rooms by the water so I hope this gives the reader a different perspective of the type of rooms you can rent at Sam's. We rented two rooms - one for me and my wife and one for my three teenage children. Their room had a sofa-coach that was very comfortable (per one of my children), and the beds were adequate (per the other two children). If our room had the exact bed, which I believe it did, we had no complaints regarding the bed. Especially after a day of heat and walking to and from Sam's to the River Kwai (pronounced "Quare" btw :) ) The woman who owns Sam's is friendly enough. I booked on a website after reading Trip Advisor reader comments and the reservation was there when we arrived. Our room was a queen-size bed with only one sheet and a cover - you will have to manage the a/c which was good and cold. You could probably get a blanket, we were just too tire lol. There was a towel for each of us and a bar soap (no shampoo) and a simple, small bathroom with the typical combined shower and toilet 4 feet away. Everything stayed dry and the water was plenty hot. We stayed one night and left the next morning to head to the Elephant Nature Preserve (see my Trip Advisor review on this experience - wonderful) and decided on breakfast at Sam's (not included). We had a simple breakfast of one egg, toast, coffee and juice with the kids of course opting for the meal that included bacon and/or sausage. Simple and effective. Total cost for the two rooms - 1070 THB ($32 USD) Total cost for breakfast - 480 THB ($15 USD) . Good, cheap place to stay, so set your expectations lower than the 5-star hotels and you will love your stay here.…
