Yes, there are ants in the tub, yes the Wi-fi connection is spotty, and yes I don't think much has change in 10 years at the hotel, but it's the best Maha Sarakham has to offer. On the plus side, it has a spacious gym and the restaurant is passable - a destination for the local well to do. Parking...

This is the biggest hotel in Mahasarakam. However, it does not change much for 10 years. There are ants in the room. The door cannot be locked and opened functionally. The breakfast is not tasty. The area is full of dogs. Last year the dog bit me and I had to go see the doctor myself without any responsibility of...

We arrived at this hotel without booking and were at first told it was full for our second night of three (Friday), then told we could have a super deluxe room at the deluxe rate (much cheaper than booking agencies) for three nights. Our room was a good size, recently renovated, had new 40'' TV, DVD player (didn't work –...

I had a wonderful and comfortable stay in this hotel suite for more than a week. Rooms are big, clean, well furnished, fully air conditioned and bathroom with modern amenities. I think the location is very good for town facilities. Breakfast wasn't as good experience as I expected though they offer varieties of Thai menu. The restaurant looked to be...

You can read in other comments shortcomings compared to 5 star hotels in major cities. This is rather stupid to comment as this hotel is not only in Thailand but in rural Isaan. Here this hotel is top and best to choose in this city. Despite the hotel can be rated as 4 star, its details bring it up to...

Every time I visit Maha sarakam, I use this hotel. The location is nice, 5 min walk to bus station. I can not find better hotel than Taksila in this city. The staff are kind and nice, but room is old. Breakfast is good and you can enjoy it. Unfortunately, all rooms are non-smoking.

We came to town for a friends wedding and stayed here for the night. We choose the Takaila because it was the last available hotel we could find on Agoda and probably for good reason. It's the most expensive and its old. The fittings and furniture show their age and several that bugs are broken. The breakfast buffet is only...

Have stayed at this hotel on several occasions. It is a 4 star property. Although the hotel is quite old, it is in good condition and by western standards it is very inexpensive. Rooms are well-equipped, albeit the bathrooms are a bit old. Beds are very comfortable. The hotel restaurant provides breakfast, lunch & dinner. The evening dinner is adequate....

If you are thinking about spending anytime at all at the Taksila grande...then...DONT...if its your only choice.then..sleep in your car..We booked for 2 night whilst visiting family, On arrival, we found the lobby to be the favourite sleeping place of the local police, yes...police, 3 of them flat out fast asleep in full uniform, with grubby receptionist and bell boy...
