This was one of best experiences we have had in over 20 years at any Highland hotel. All staff were so relaxed, friendly and helpful.Spotless, great service, great food.Ignore the bad reviews. We have stayed at many hotels when we have our fishing trips, this was perhaps the best. Thanks so much to our hosts Alistair and Carol. We will be back next year. Donald and Jim.
Car broke down just outside the hotel so managed to get a last minute booking, staff were friendly, food good and rooms nice enough! Had to stay a few extra hours next day while the car was sorted and the hosts were very accommodating and generous
Host: Very rude and felt being discriminated and element of racism. We only asked if fish was from farm or sea and it started rolling eye balls, got rude and left without saying anything Location: Ok and sitting arrangements better outside then inside
We booked in here to meet friends for a meal as the Struy Inn was fully booked. The lady who took the booking was helpful and friendly - she did advise that this was "fine dining" and not "burgers and chips". We were 1 week into a bike-packing journey and this was a special treat to link up with family. We scrubbed up as best we could and sat in the garden (they did let us have our 2 dogs in the garden on leads which was good). The man who we assumed was the owner - had no word of greeting, was blatantly unfriendly, inhospitable and unhelpful - not even a hello. I asked for a G&T "what kind of gin do you want?" when I asked what they had he waved uninterestedly at the bottles. Same scenario for the tonic. We were told brusquely that they were on a strict 15' timetable so hoped our party would order quickly. The 2 young boys waiting were great but we felt sorry for them working here. The menu was utterly uninspired. The vegetarian menu was mushroom stroganoff or macaroni cheese (!). I had 'Venison casserole, baby roast potatoes and garden vegetables' - the casserole looked and tasted like dog food - old meat stewed into oblivion - and despite being starving I only could eat 2 mouthfuls. The baby roast potatoes looked fried and were overcooked and swimming in butter. There was a tiny salad to accompany. The fish & chips were average. Sadly we were ALL four sick for 24 - 48 (the venison) hours after - but especially our dogs who we gave the venison mush to. When I paid - there was not a smile, a "how was your mea?l" "thank you for coming" etc. I said nothing but vowed for the first time in my life to write a review. Please don't go here. Its utterly rubbish and they cannot call themselves a hospitality business.…
Quite possibly the most rudest customer service I have ever come across in all of my life. Myself and other customers were totally astonished by what we witness from the older man behind the bar. What a shame because the grounds are okay. Good wasn’t served untill 6pm and stops at 2.30pm so we were unable to rate the food.
