Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Large room and the bed was comfortable enough, but we had the noise of the split system air conditioner going all night and it was located just outside our rooms window. Not exactly the best of views, but it saved us having to drive home. Thought the room was a little expensive for what it was, but as it was a late booking we didn’t have time to price around.

We often eat here as it is local and the food is usually good. However last night was disappointing. Both my husbands meal of Snapper with Kale and my meal of Fillet Mignon was so salty it was almost in edible. It may be a while before we go back. We did ask the waitress to let the chef know of his heavy handed ness with the salt.

Disappointed to find that upstairs no longer has table service, its a downgraded experience. Despite having broken ankle and wearing a boot and sitting at the end of the building a long way from order counter the request for service could not/would not be accomodated.

I went to the bar to order drinks for my wife and I. I don’t drink so ordered a soda water and a UDL for my wife. The tab came back @ $15 which I queried. To my surprise I was advised management believed charging $4 for a glass of soda water from the premix machine was reasonable. I told the staff to pass on my disgust to management along with a guarantee they wouldn’t have to worry about my custom again

We were driving from Brisbane and had booked a room through Booking.com. We also rang twice over the course of the evening to advise our late arrival. The girl we spoke with checked and said Yes, that was fine. No problem. We checked in and paid for our room but the guy couldn't find the keys to our room. It seems it had been given to someone else. The Publican came over to us and said that Booking.com had released one of their bookings and we did not actually have a booking which was interesting as the staff seemed to think we did. We arrived just before midnight. We had been driving for around 10 hours. Anyway, we were tourists and did not know the area. When I asked if they could help us find a room elsewhere, the Publican shrugged and said "I wouldn't know where to start." Then just stood and stared. When I said that wasn't really good enough he suggested they could "chuck a blow up mattress in the cleaners room, if we liked."

We left after that. Totally unhelpful and rude to boot.

Big ups to the Night Manager at the Ibis Hotel though. He tried valiantly to secure us a room somewhere but it happened to be a very busy weekend and no luck. We ended up sleeping in our car. That was a first!

When I contacted Booking.com they could not have cared less about the issue with our booking. I would therefore be very careful when using booking.com. Double check your bookings because their system is not trustworthy or reliable.

If sleeping is important to you don't stay here. Rooms 1,2 & 3 back onto the roof top air conditioning units which go through an endless cycle of switching on and off all night. Rooms are shabby and the towels should be thrown out, stained and worn.

I'm giving the restaurant in this place this rating because of its inconsistency. One day the meal can be great and the next day it can be terrible. We like to eat at this pub being local but it is so annoying not knowing whether the meal is going to be good or bad. Last night l had the rack of lamb which was not inexpensive at $27 and after being told there would be a wait because they were busy, the meal eventually arrived. Only problem was the lamb was overcooked and tough and virtually inedible. How do you make a rack of lamb tough?? Not good enough. On a positive note, the wait staff are always friendly and attentive.

I always support local and reading reviews is something I avoid and rather judge for myself my dining experience In this instance all reviews were correct. My experience started with being seated at a table when within 10 mins realised I was wet with gravy spattered from previous diner. My clothes were covered . Embarrassed and dirty I was laughed at and handed an unclean dish rag. I continued to order my meal amazingly as the diners next to me said this mess occurred moments ago and wasn't attended to properly. A girl appeared from kitchen to say sorry and offered me free drink. I Said I was the designated driver so give to my hubby. Our entree arrived and was ok. I then had to remind of free drink which was almost a hassle. We both ate our meal and left irritable. A night without the kids and a restaurant I'm glad we never took them too. Read these reviews. I will NEVER go back. Your discount docket is in the bin.

Staff are very rude, even disturbing all the time when we are sleeping in the room. I have asked why they are keep disturbing during our stay, the very rude staff members said, we are not in their systems. they said the room is vacant. Even we paid for two nights. Their hard face shown they will never apologize for their continuous annoying. Never go back again for my life time. After our complain, they said, they don't care and we can report anyone else.
