This charming pension is in Saschiz, 100ms away from the centre(the fortified church, a Unesco World Heritage Site). It's a very good base to explore the surroundings(Sighisoara is at 20km, Viscri, Crit, Cloasterf at the same distance in the south, Praid is at 60-70km etc). The pension is not big(maybe 8 rooms). At the ground floor they have the blue...

The pension is located just 100 meters from the UNESCO Fortified Church & Tower of Saschiz. The house goes back to 1908 and it was beautifully restored, preserving the specific elements of the Transylvanian Saxons. The rooms are simple but very clean and cozy. Breakfast was excellent (you'll get more than you can eat). The host is very friendly, without...

Room was very clean, owner was welcoming and the breakfast was good. Almost felt like staying at a friends house. Safe and free parking off the street. Only complaint is it is a little hard to spot at night as the sign is not very big. Our GPS found it no problem though.

Thank you very much for your review. We will take into consideration your feedback about the sign at the gate. We also installed several lights outside so people can notice it before they arrive at the house. We hope to see you again in Sachiz. Anca Dantes

The pension is very nice renovated with a rustic style. We had a room viewing the woods and it was quiet all the time. The breakfast is rich in products naturally made by them and the lady that takes care of the pension is very nice. Also, you cannot leave without "speaking" a little with Lenuta, the pensions lovely cat.

Very nice, clean and tidy :) The only main disadvantage, by my opinion, it's the location, right on the national road :(( Otherwise, once you are ok with that, go for it... All the reviews I've seen on TA are fair... A favourite dish? Lamb's stew with polenta !

Neat, clean rooms, large courtyard fit to relax, very close to the church and citadel (as well as the forest out back), and great food. Hope to come again for a longer stay in the area and definitely at Cartref. The staff was also very helpful in arranging a guided tour of Sighisoara.

I stayed at this pension at the end of May, 2014. The place is a typical old German house, well refurbished and carefully conserving the old traditional environment. My room, with en suite, was excellent and I appreciate the good security system for the in-yard parking. The manager is an excellent host (she). The dining areas are spacious and excellent....

A traditional location, but recently renovated, very clean and cozy. The food is one of the best traditional Romanian dishes I've tasted, all fresh made. The people running the pension are doing their best for the guests to feel welcomed. We loved the place and the surroundings and we will definitely come back.

I have quite mixed feelings after the stay in Cartref. The description of the place suggests its idyllic location in a quiet village. No doubt the pension is lovely, so are the ladies running it. The yard with a barbecue area is idyllic indeed. The village itself is simply beautiful. However....The pension is situated next to a very busy road...
