Pub was empty when we went at 6.30pm friendly welcome and food was very good. Chef very excentric but very good. Bit surprised when got bill as for 2 mains (aprox £10 each) and 2 1/2 pints came to £31 Would be wary next time on prices charges etc.

After going round Cornwall and Devon, stopped off here just by chance, my room was on lower floor direct access to the front car park, very nice clean, quiet, with a good nights sleep, very friendly staff , the evening meal (gammon ) was very nice, the breakfast was outstanding, it did take ages to come though but worth the... Mixed reviews on this website allowed us to form our own opinion a little easier. I must admit to being a little apprehensive as to what we would see when we entered as our previous visit, some time ago I might add, was not all that impressive. This time we were met with a very cheery welcome and were told... More

We hosted a lunch at The Bull Inn Swyre today for family members. We chose the carvery and it was superb. There was a choice of four lovely roasts and five vegetables. New potatoes and melt in your mouth roasties added to our pleasure. As did sausages, Yorkshire puddings, stuffing, sauces to match the meats and lashings of gravy. The... More

Stopped here for dinner early evening. Lovely welcome, friendly atmosphere and a nice choice of food with a few specials. Decor was simple and old fashioned pub style and there are tables outside for a sunny day. The food arrived nicely presented in a no frills sort of way. The steak pie was large, homemade, tasty and just as hoped... More

Speaking of a visit a while ago. Pulled into the car park after a long drive planning to have a pint and something to eat. Immediatly met by a woman who started to have a go at me for using her carpark as a turning circle. Needless to say didnt bother going in.

Very good food with a twist. Tasty and plenty of it. The lady was very chatty and interested in my travels. Would definitely recommend if you're passing. I was driving down the coast road between Bridport and Weymouth and it was opposite a caravan park my parents had stayed in. A varied menu and they also do snacks and light... More

Chanced on The Bull whilst touring Dorset and what a gem! Immediate friendly welcome from the owner and her daughter, sensational food cooked by an equally friendly and wonderfully eccentric chef. So good we did it twice! The menu is out-of-the ordinary and in no-way representative of your usual 'pub grub'. 5 stars all the way!

Myself and my partner decided last minute to have a two day break in Dorset and rang on the off chance they had a room available......which luckily they did at a very reasonable price. The staff/owners were very friendly and welcoming and the room was clean and tidy and the cooked breakfast was lovely. We had a lovely day at... More
