We had an efficiency unit at this resort. It opened onto a large common deck, near the edge of a bluff with a sweeping view of the ocean. There are cabins and motel-like rooms available as well. The rooms were clean, nice private kitchen and use of a BBQ outside. Len showed us around the property, mini-golf and stairway to...

From the deck of the ocean view lodge you have 50 feet of lawn to the cliff and staircase to the steps below that take you to the rocky beach. Simple, nicely decorated, well stocked efficiency units if you are a self sustaining traveller. Comfortable furnishings and everything else you need at the local gas station 30 seconds away. Enjoyed...

This is one of the only games in town and is ok for one night. The rooms are clean and right on the water, but the motel has definitely seen better days. Selling point is that the Cape St. Mary's Reserve is nearby and it is spectacular.

This was a great location to visit Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve. the room were comfortable and there was free wy-fi. There is a store at the top of the driveway to purchase drinks, snacks, and sundry items. Good view of the ocean and a mini golf course was on the grounds

For those visiting the southern part of the island, possible variety of places to stay is limited - which brings concerns. I think that this establishment covers the needs of an average traveler nicely. It is a rather small building and the dining choices are available within a short car ride. The rooms are spacious. Beds are comfortable and I...

We stayed 1 night at the motel. Our room was recently renovated and it looked good. All facilities are available like a fully equiped kitchen. Beds are good, and good wifi. The views are really nice. The water is indeed brownish, but the motel gave us water in bottles in the room. In the evening they put on a fireplace...

Stayed in the separate building. Had a good view but there was an awful smell out side. It wasn't the ocean, I noticed a fish plant just down the road so think that was it. The rooms was not clean and the water was brown, apparently that's the town water. There is very little in the way of places to...

Newfoundland is home to an amazing Gannet Bird Colony at Cape St. Mary's Eco Reserve. Bird Island Resort is basic, just a place to sleep at night. It has a wonderful ocean view full of purple rocks and some great landscape photo opportunities. Not much else in the area, so this is the place to stay because of its great...

I stayed in the hotel part of the facility. The room was spacious and the bed was fine. The shower was good but the overpowering mildew smell made my throat burn and made it difficult to sleep. The smell is not related to seeweed and ocean smells. It is from mold or mildew somewhere in the building. It is likely...

The cabins in the separate building have a joint verandah with a great view on Placentia Bay. Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve is close by. Saint Bride's doesn't have much to do... The rooms are small with little comfort. There is brown water coming to flush the toilet with. Would not drink or use it to brush my teeth with...
