Husband and I stayed in room 19 (deluxe) which was a partially-renovated room on the upper level of the complex and away from the busy road. Yes, this is at the upper end of the motel nightly price range which probably reflects supply constraints in the gorgeous coastal enclave of Thirroul. Pros: short walk to beach, shops, and dining; off street parking; after hours check in; comfy bed; full-size fridge in room; new a/c unit; keyless entry; relaxed vibe (ie you can leave your towel hanging on the railing outside). Cons: tiny, dated bathroom; a bit of noise from the shower of the unit below us; broken blind; terrible wall art (IMHO). All in all, if you manage your expectations, you’ll be fine.

This was our second stay at the Beach Motel and it exceeded our expectations. Ideally sited with Thirroul Beach a short stroll away & the shops, pub & Anita's Theatre under 5 minutes walk away. Really good sized room, clean & comfortable with everything you need to enjoy a short stay. Nice touches with huge towels and coffee, tea, milk, biscuits and breakfast cereals on offer and away from the road a peaceful night is guaranteed! Just wish some of the guests would think of others?? Warming your car up for 5 minutes? Really?? Reasonably priced and will be back!

We stayed for one night (Sunday) to see a show at Anita’s theatre. Paid $230 for 1 night and we were unhappy with our stay.
Room 19 smelt faintly of cigarettes, was run down with cracks in the wall and mouldy bathroom ceiling, cracked glass in the shower, fridge was really noisy at night, toilet was squashed in a corner, water pressure wasn’t great, and overall bathroom was in desperate need of updating/fixing.
I also didn’t like that there was only a thin bedsheet between us and the mattress (no mattress protector of any sort, seems unhygienic).
On a minor note, there were no hooks in the bathroom for towels/ robes etc (not a huge deal but a bit annoying given how cheap it is to rectify) and the rail in the wardrobe kept falling.
Positives are that the queen bed was really comfortable, the kitchenette would have been useful if we were staying longer, there was some cereal/milk/coffee and proximity to the theatre (short walk). Plus I liked the code ‘card’ entry to the room. Regrettably this wasn’t enough to outweigh the cons.
Some of the rooms on the ground floor have been refurbished and seem much nicer from what I could see (the cleaner had doors open).
If I’d paid a standard rate, I wouldn’t have minded as much. But paying $230 on a Sunday night in the middle of winter and having a mouldy bathroom and cracks on the wall is incredibly disappointing.

What a little gem. $110 per night and it was money well spent. Perfectly situated with restaurants a 3 minute walk away. Quiet with everything you’d need. Clean, comfortable and we couldn’t believe the provisions. So many hotels, cabins etc are lacking in what they provide!!!! The Beach Hotel had breakfast provisions of cereal, milk, tea coffee etc and a small kitchen.

The hype certainly does not meet the reality. Recently renovated, not true… examples brackets for a bathroom shelf, just no shelf, floor tiles replaced with completely different colour, windows in bathroom don’t fit properly freezing in the winter, front door rattles in the wind, and the bed would look good in the Hobbits (Tiny). The on site bar closed at 8pm and would not serve a drink to take to the room even though the staff were still there. By the way free breakfast is a few breakfast cereal packets in the fridge .. really 😳 For the cost it really was a poor experience and I would not return or recommend to anyone. My guidance would be to pay a little more and get a room up the road at the headlands which is ‘streets ahead’ in quality……don’t live and learn and waste your money

Very nice, comfy and spacious room, perfectly well equipped with everything needed. The staff were very nice and we definitely enjoyed our stay, it was exactly what we needed for a very affordable price.
Would definitely recommend 100% to anyone looking for a good place to stay in the region

So friendly with booking and accommodation a bit dated but clean and tidy and liked the complimentary cereal and juice but then this happened.. Nodding off at 10:30pm and next minute our door handle starts rattling followed by lots of cursing then more door rattling. Assuming it's just someone drunk that's gone to wrong room we wait for the shadows at the window to go.. 5 mins later suddenly our door is opened.. no knocking or calling out to ask if anyone was inside or who they were.. then an "Oh, so sorry" and the door closing again. If I hadn't just been recovering from a hospital stay we may have thought it was an amusing scene from Faulty Towers but instead was the most terrifying few moments of my life. Note to Motel, if someone is trying to access a room without a key or the wrong key maybe check their booking details 1st or at least knock on the door you're about to open otherwise you could give someone a heart attack.

We stayed for one night on a weekend to attend a function close to the hotel. We had to hang around an unattended reception for a while until we noticed a mobile number to contact. After that check in was quick. The room was large and clean, with new furnishings and a kitchenette and provisions for breakfast. After our function we returned to our room about 9:30. It was a very hot night and found our room had no air conditioning and after searching all the cupboards could not find a fan. We opened the window, but had to close it again due to the noise from the adjoining bar and restaurant, which had outdoor seating and music blasting. The office was closed, so we couldn’t request a fan. The noise from the restaurant stopped after an hour, but even with the window opened, the room was stuffy and hot.
For the price of the accommodation, you would expect at least ceiling fans. On the plus, the rooms are nicely furnished, very clean, although the bathroom was a bit dated. The location was great, but the staff were a bit casual and off-hand. Hopefully air conditioning will be be installed, otherwise only stay in winter.

Spent 3 nights in August, enjoyed the motel and would stay there again. Well located close to beach, good restaurants and coffee shops. Spacious room, comfy bed and car parking right outside. Wifi was fine, and could also log into my Netflix account on the TV. We booked a renovated room and it didn't cost much more. Rooms were good value anyway. Contactless checkin relied on a code sent to the phone on checkin day.

Hi Agatha,
The easiest way is to walk a couple of minutes along the footpath back into town. The theatre is less than 5 minutes from the motel,
Kind Regards
