This hostel was one of the best. It has super cozy rooms with king size bed for 22k pesos, or a bed in 8ppl shared dorm for 8k pesos, and few more options. Kitchen and livingg room are fully equiped, awesome chill out space, beautiful grown up garden as well as elevated patio/terrase/hammack space. Super nice owner and staff -...

We stayed two nights before and after climbing Mt Chirripo. It felt like coming home. Clean rooms and comfy beds. A nice livingroom area where we met other trekkers. Barbara who runs the place were really helpfull with our preparations before the hike. And after a long day of hiking she tapped up the hottub for us - a true...

Fantastic guest house to stay in!! The design of the place is so unique and the staff were all really helpful and welcoming. You felt like you were right at home. Perfect place to stay if you want to visit Chirripo or Cloudforestbridge reserve, both entrances are just a few min walk away. To get to this place it definitely...

The hostel is situated right near the entrance of the Chirripo National Park which is perfect if you want to do the hike. It's also close to Cloudbridge Reserve. The hostel is very cosy with a well equipped kitchen and communal area. The dorm is in a little cave with comfy beds and enough space for luggage. The hostel sells...

Unique rooms nestled into the forest/slopes next to the river. Entire facility is beautiful and clean. The dorm room is incredibly cool and unique. Nice kitchenette for cooking. This is the PERFECT place for sleeping the night before climbing Chirripo. It is the CLOSEST HOSTEL/HOTEL to the Chirripo trailhead (only 50m away). Their website was very helpful with Chirripo details,...

We used this place as a base for our trip to Chirripó and came with a very good impression. We stayed at the cabin at the top of the hostel. The rustic style and the open windows give a sensation of closeness to nature. The warmness of the owners and hostess also helped. There is a shared kitchen that can...

We stayed for 3 nights while walking and birding in the Cloudbridge Reserve. Great place to stay when coming or going on the strenuous hike to Chirripo or just visiting the lovely San Gerardo area. Not easy to get to, but well worth the effort. Beautiful, uniquely-built buildings with a dorm and nice private rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen....

We stayed one night before our hike to Chirripó the next morning. We were welcomed with a relaxed atmosphere, great employees (shout out Robbie and Kimberly), and a unique place to stay. The whole hostel is a "community house" which is very different from other hostels I've stayed in. Casa Mariposa has hats/gloves/jackets/walking sticks for people to use for their...

I don't even know where to start off with all the good things happening there! First of all: the casa mariposa is a real beauty, they built the hostel into nature and it's just stunning. Then there's the staff: helping, friendly and there for every concern you may have. They even have a little store where you can buy eggs,...
