I LOVE this place, I have been to the location in Spring Bay a few time and so happy they have a second location in Gore Bay that I believe is open year around. They have so many wonderful cheeses that can't be found any place else on Manitoulin Island, Not sure if you will like the cheese, ask for a sample taste before you buy, they will be happy to help you. Sent my husband in to get some cheese and he didn't know what kind I wanted, Diane one of the owners actually took the time to call me and ask me what kind I wanted! NOW that is what I call customer service.
We stayed in the two bedroom portion of this wonderful bed and breakfast. With only two nights booked, it was very hard to leave. Perfect getaway, central to all island amenities, generous breakfast offerings... Rich and Diane are wonderful hosts. Very clean! (a must for my travels) Will definitely be coming back next year - staying for longer! Trust the reviews on this one folks!
This was our first time on Manitoulin Island, and we stayed in a sweet little cottage not far from Quintina's. This is a quaint little b store right in Spring Bay that has the friendliest proprietors ever. Both her and her husband made us feel like family. We were introduced to their sweet dog Gracie and we spent so much time just browsing the merchandise, that we realized it was time for lunch. They make incredible grill cheese sandwiches and open face sandwiches. All with the freshest ingredients. My daughter had a cheddar and honey grilled cheese and I had a ham, cheddar and tomato on naan bread toasted. So yummy. When you eat in the restaurant they have two tables set up by the windows. Sweet and cozy. They have a guest house but we didn't stay there. Highly recommend this place. Well worth the drive.…
Stayed here in the guest house for 3 nights with my wife and 8 year old daughter. The perfect antidote to mass produced hotels and completely in keeping with the vibe of Manitoulin. The house itself is eclectic and feels just like a family home - complete with well-stocked fridge for your use. Or you could pop in to Rick in the attached shop/coffee shop for a most excellent breakfast sandwich, cheese and fruit. Which leads on to the owners; Diane and Rick - which is really what Quintina's is all about. You could not wish for a more warm and generous-spirited couple. We loved Manitoulin but will most remember our chats with Diane and Rick over breakfast (ending all too close to lunchtime!). Truly fabulous.
Quintina's is a beautiful old house, turned guest house. The rooms are furnished with Pottery Barn and old furniture, the fridge is always full, the hosts are wonderful and accommodating in any way they can! I stayed in the main floor bedroom and I haven't slept so well in ages! The store in front of the Guest House is wonderful as well. You can buy anything from fresh Ontario honey (with endless flavours such as cinnamon, lemon and ginger), to olive oil right from Italy, to that one of a kind article of clothing. In both the store and the guest house the prices are very fair, the service is wonderful and it's a MUST on your Island travel list!
