Lovely farm in a lovely location. Hosts Lucy and Marcus were lovely and most welcoming. The kids got to groom the horses, bottle feed lambs every day and Lucy took us for a lovely long country walk with a spotting list for the kids. Beds were very comfortable and quilts very warm.

Having been once before (for a weeks holiday) we booked out the whole glamp site for our anniversary weekend. We filled the site with family and friends. Owners Lucy and Marcus made us and our guests feel very welcome. They ran all the usual events so all our young guests got to feed the sheep, groom the horse, collect eggs...

Had a fantastic time here and wonderful location. Despite being only guests for the week, lovely atmosphere. Lucy and Marcus and their boys were lovely hosts. Great play area! Hope to come again soon!

We drove from Surrey to Suffolk, which was testing and I was worried that College Farm may not be worth the journey but once we got there it was well worth it. Beautiful views down to the river, big maize fields on either side that make a great hiding place for the kids! Great tents that were much larger than...

We loved College Farm last July (see our review), but our second visit was even more special. Lucy and Marcus welcomed us back so warmly, and were were really excited to be back in Tent no 1, now with decked veranda. College farm is a beautiful setting and there is so much to explore in the area, Beccles and Bungay...

Never written a TripAdvisor review before, but we had such a great break - thanks largely to the conviviality of Marcus and Lucy - that I felt compelled to recommend College Farm to anyone who's considering it as a holiday destination. My family (5 of us) visited College Farm in early September. It was our first 'glamping' experience, but we...

was the excited cry from our 4 year old every morning. And what could be nicer that an egg that fresh poached on toast in a luxury tent? We have just had the most amazing week and College Farm, can't wait to rebook for next year. We met some lovely families on the walk and around the communal pizza oven,...

Lucy and Marcus welcomed me and my family back for a fourth time at College Farm. This was our eighth Featherdown Farm break all told, and we've therefore experienced five farms; College Farm at Aldeby is the best by a long way. The farm is a perfect location and we enjoyed our usual (now traditional) excursions: Southwold Pier; the Adnams...

The warmth of our welcome from Marcus, Lucy, Henry and William made all the long miles from Scotland melt away, in an instant we were at home at College Farm, knowing we had made the right choice. Our teenage girls adored the hens and pet lambs and joyfully leapt around on the hay bales with Henry and William. Two lovely,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are very proud to have been voted as farm of the year for 2013. Our farm is located on the southerly tip of the Norfolk Broads and a short drive from many of Norfolk’s outstanding beaches and coastal towns such as Southwold. On the farm we would love to show you our herd of cattle that graze on the marshes, our chickens that reside at the top of the Feather Down field and in the farmyard you’ll find horses, lots of friendly dogs, guinea fowl and Dolly our pet cow. On the farm we would love to show you our herd of cattle that graze on the marshes, our chickens that reside at the top of the Feather Down field and in the farmyard you’ll find horses, lots of friendly dogs, guinea fowl and Dolly our pet cow.We are Marcus, Lucy, Henry and William Daniels. We keep a herd of mixed breed cattle that graze on the marshes, whilst the chickens reside at the top of the Feather Down field. In the farmyard you’ll find horses, guinea fowl, Dolly the pet cow and plenty of friendly dogs. The tents are located on a south-facing grassy field at the top of the farm-yard that slopes gently down to the marshes. If you come and visit in August or September then you will get to stay alongside the swaying sunflowers. There is a stunning view from all the tents over the marsh-land where the cattle graze down to the River Waveney. Guests can watch the mist roll in off the river and envelop the marshes, at dusk and early in the morning. You might also catch a glimpse of barn owls hunting or see one of the three species of deer we have in the locality. There is so much to do here you won’t need to stray further than the farm, don’t miss our farm tour, you can enjoy a wander on the marshes, take a picnic to the river, help us to move and check the cattle, and assist in looking after the lambs, our communal horse-grooming session is always a hit and don't forget to collect the eggs from the henhouse! If you are here for a rest you can sit out in front of your tent and watch the sails of the pleasure craft in the distance pootling up and down the River Waveney. Our farm larder has meat and eggs produced on the farm or sourced from one of our farm neighbours. You’ll also find local apple juice and ice cream there as well as freshly baked cakes and treats by Lucy. ... more   less

“The Frills tents are nice with the shower, though main showers are fine if you don't mind walking up.”

“Quieter toward the bottom of the strip, with uninterrupted views, but easier to keep and eye on the children if you are nearer the top.”

“It doesn't make a lot of difference as they're all in a lovely location. We had tent 1 at the top of the hill, kindly allocated to us by Lucy and Marcus because we had an 8 month old (and two other young children). 1 & 2 are both at the top of the hill (it counts as a hill if you're from Cambridge but is more of a grassy slope in reality!) and closest to the children's play areas, shop, showers etc. They do look out over (the backs of) the other tents so if a more unbroken view is your priority then maybe you could request 5/6/7 further down the hill. The view from our tent was amazing though.”
