The English River Inn is a single story older independent motel located along the Trans Canada Highway west of Ignace and 160 Km east of Dryden. The motel is a bit isolated but they have food available to purchase. Our unit on this trip was room 103. No kitchenette but they have a breakfast room next to the office. The...

I've driven through Northern Ontario twice and each time I have spent the night here. First of all, it reminds me of Twin Peaks in all the right ways, anyone who's seen it and knows the way the detective fell in love with the town knows how I felt here. The people who run it are very welcoming and it...

When my Wife & I were planning our trip to Yellowknife this past winter, we needed accommodation near Thunder Bay, but wanted to avoid travelling into the big city if we could. Therefore, we booked a reservation at The English River Inn based on the positive reviews on TripAdvisor despite the fact that they were a little out of date,...

This is an awesome place to stop along the highway. The owners are friendly and caring and really take pride in their place. They are not really fans of noisy customers and Bruce can come across as strict. This is more of a place for families to stop on vacation. The Inn is on a lake and there is a...

We're on our way through to Alberta and decided to stop for the night at this motel after reading the positive reviews. Fantastic place! Quaint motel with friendly service. We were warm greeted and the layout of how things operate were explained to us. The room was spacious and clean. It's dated, but for the price we paid, can't complain...

Highly recommend this motel for a stopover. Welcoming hosts, clean and comfortable room, lovely setting. Frozen foods available for a light supper. Right off the highway but not noisy. The owners clearly take pride in their establishment, as they should.

This is a lovely spot to stop over night. Family run business, simple, clean rooms and good breakfast. We were travelling w dog and she was welcomed. No restaurant in town so bring your own supper. Plates and cutlery available for your use. We would stay again.
