We had 2 nights here as part of an organised birding trip. It is a fantastic place with plenty of walks. Boat trips are available which give a great view of the birds. The rooms are on the small side, but perfectly clean. Bottled water is provided on arrival, and there is potable water available in the dining room, along...

I stayed for 2 nights at the Bird's Eye View Lodge as part of a Belize trip with Mountain Travel Sobek. The lodge is located right on the lagoon and seems to cater to bird watchers. The lodge itself consists of two older buildings that look like they were built back in the days of British rule. I had a...

This is the best location if you want to see all the birds on the lake. The hotel really caters for bird watchers and can arrange trips with experts. The food is freshly cooked and offered as a buffet. The rooms are a bit old fashioned and could do with new mattresses/beds, but the bathrooms have been updated and all...

We did not stay at the lodge. We came for a birding tour on the lagoon. The water was too low for a boat trip so Leonard gave us a land version- and it was AWESOME! He's got a great eye and lots of knowledge. One of us loves looking at birds and the other one of us loves photographing...

We are a family of four (daughters are aged 18 and 15 yrs) and stayed for two nights as part of a "Mayan Explorer " package. We toured temples at Altun-ha and Lamanai . Staying at a bird sanctuary was an added bonus, while we appreciate birds it was quite interesting to be surrounded by bird enthusiasts. The family and...

This hotel is in the unique location of Crooked Tree Sanctuary. The lagoon in front of the hotel is the winter home of many many birds from north america. We had a hotel room on the second floor with a patio in front facing the water. The night sky was amazing. The food was local buffet style meals. Everything tasted...

Stayed 2 nights wish we had stayed longer. The boat ride in the lagoon was so amazing we saw at least 100 different types of birds. Kim at reception is a sweet person and tended to our every need. The shower did not work and they fixed it immediately. The staff was very friendly and the guides are knowledgeable. I...

In February, the lagoon is 26 miles long full of wild life and accessable by boat from the hotel. By late March early April the lagoon becomes a small river and birdlife is concentrated arround that river. So if you like boat trips with lots to see or an intensive birding bllitz Crooked Tree fills the bill. The rooms are...

We stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful time here. Our room was small, two twin beds and a bathroom, no storage except a hanging rack, but it was clean, the linens were good quality and it had A/C - not luxury accommodations but certainly adequate. What makes Birds Eye View Lodge very special are the people and the...
