It has been mentioned previously, but The Leicester Arms could be lovely. Really pleasant and inviting is all in the detail. The Leicester Arms simply doesn't get to this - there seems to be inadequate training, staff abilities, enthusiasm amongst the management and lethargy amongst the owners. A real pity. The bar and restaurant just seem to have a thin...

My wife and I had just completed a walk around the Penshurst area. Wanting to cool off and relax before going home we decided to pop in for a quick drink. I ordered a pint and a half of orange juice and lemonade. Wanting a snack I asked what was in the 4/5 jars displayed behind the bar. "Peanuts" was...

Penshurst is an achingly beautiful village which explained the film crew also in residence during our stay. The Leicester Arms just about falls into the same category and with a little effort in some areas would be a perfect place to stay and dine. The presence of empty, used glasses littering the outside tables on our arrival was not quite...

Really nice pub, so dog friendly that I was licked to death trying to buy a pint! Great food /ambiance and a cracking breakfast. Very good value. I strongly recommend a stay here. Local village has a medieval church worth a visit.

Second stay here in same month and not disappointed. Lovely quirky hotel/pub in a beautiful location. Beds super comfy and food fabulous. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Chose The Leicester Arms due to having a little dog and he was made very welcome also. Would thoroughly recommend and stay here next time I'm in the area. Many thanks.

Although it had a restaurant we choose to have bar snacks in the wonderful oak beamed bar. Large car park and friendly staff. Recommend the home made pork pies with a plate of chips. Large selection of drinks and unusual beers.

Its many years since I visied the Leicester Arms at Penshurst. Very little has changed in terms of the decor and furniture but what has changed its the staff and the quality/quantity of food. Four of us had lunch and we were all delighted with our meal and in particular the service. Living only a few miles from the Leicester...

After a miserable hotel stay, we called in on this pub for an afternoon escape. The tea rooms were closed in Penshurst, so we found ourselves in the Leicester Arms - what a delightful pub. The staff were attentive and helpful, serving drinks to the table, taking a late lunch food order and turning it round extra quick. Delicious food,...

The setting was great and the restaurant was packed. However mains were disappointing for the price. Service was poor - wine spilt when being poured and had to request an ice bucket. However puddings were superb - stick toffee especially. We did nit have starters - the options were limited.
