My husband and I stayed here on August 29th, 2016 and found the charm, history and elegance just to our liking. A bit hard to find (stupid GPS) but worth the extra effort. Mostly quiet (was I just dreaming the three bygone ladys in my room?) atmosphere with the unexpected pleasure of a private castle tour by the proprietor. In... More

Near the village of Doolin, with access to Aran Islands ferry and great music, this beautiful, family run country manor is one I would return to time and time again. Set on a hill overlooking The Cliffs of Moher, the rooms are quiet, well appointed and comfortable. Proprietors Cecelia and Declan, expertly manage the facility, bar, dining room, provide tours... The unique architecture of this beautiful country house provided one of the quietest and most comfortable experiences of our recent 10 day trip to Ireland. Cecelia and Declan are thoughtful, professional innkeepers who provide guests with top advice on area activities. Yvonne and Georgia served delicious breakfasts and dinners in the dining room. Located near Doolin, site of the Aran... More

My family and I visited Ballinalacken on August 15th as an impromptu dinner choice. I can say that we were all pleasantly surprised and quite honestly blown away by our evening there. We arrived around 6:30 and were offered a tour of the castle. It was amazing. We felt so privileged to be able to get such an intimate visit... More

We highly recommend this hotel. It is exactly the kind of place that I was hoping to find on our trip. We stayed three nights. A beautiful setting with great views of the ocean and even the Cliffs of Moher off in the distance. Our room was great - a corner room with views out both windows. Our daughters' room... More

A wonderful dinner,I will never forget---my husband had Clare lamb and I had scallops and white fish, enjoyed with a glass of wine each. The chef, was superb! It is family owned, and has rooms to stay as well.It was not touristy, but a fantastic elegant atmosphere. The food was extremely well prepared, and the evening truly elegant.Very good value, not overpriced with a... This Irish Country House is beautiful. My wife and I along with our five adult children stayed two magical nights. We returned for dinner the second night, because dinner the first night was so special. The Castle on the grounds is un-real. The owner gives a walking tour through the castle telling the story of it's past. Ocean views were... More

I took my parents for a weekend away of Dublin to visit the cliffs of Moher. We stayed in this beautiful hotel and they just loved it! I booked two rooms with four posts bed and it was like staying in a castle. The owner took us for a guided tour in the ancient tower they have in the property.... More

This hotel has so much charm. You drive up a tree-ringed winding driveway to find a lovely country house set on a peaceful field with ocean views. Right on the grounds is the impressive -looking ruin of a historic castle. The castle tour given by the owner was a highlight of our trip for our kids. The reception area and... More

The setting is nice, but being near the ocean it's quite out of the way. The rooms are old, which is understandable, but they just have not been maintained. There is a very musty odor as soon as you enter the place, carpets are worn out and look 'tired', and overall there is lack of upkeep. 'Old' doesn't have to... More

Dear Shabnam77, Here is our side of the story. The room you occupied had it's carpet replaced 2 years ago. The wallpaper was re-done this year and also the curtins in the room. All carpets in all bedrooms and in the corridor have been replaced over the last 3 years. So I question your passing those comments on the carpets being... More
