Stop what you are doing. Dont hesitate...Ocean Escape Resort & Spa is exactly what you are looking for. Book it now.
Believe the reviews, this place is unbelievable.

My booking was rather short notice...as i was already on the island...but wanted to..."escape" to a quiet haven.

Luxury, relaxation and kindness is how i would describe my stay here.
Elaine and Barry both went out of their way to ensure i had the best stay.

The owners have put so much thought and care into creating this island paradise.
From the breakfast baskets, fruit juice, champagne, high quality amenities, umbrellas (for those brief island showers) to the most exquisitely comfortable mattresses with beautiful crisp linen. Then there is the private little beach. I went down with my book but never got a chance to read as there were so many whales. But wait...then there is the spa, where i enjoyed the bliss of two massages with fragrant hand crafted oils made locally. Those ladies make you feel comfortable so matter what shape you are.

I came looking for a place to recharge and I got that and more. Thank you team Ocean Escape Resort and Spa.

This place is truly lovely, has the WOW factor as soon as you enter the resort, you know you have landed somewhere truly special. From the personable hosts, Barry and Jade, to the luxurious sandy-sided lagoon pool, to the well appointed apartments, this place had it all during our 4 night stay.

Because it is a smaller complex, you get to meet the other resort goers and have the chance to mix and mingle poolside, by the bar or at the great little outside BBQ area. Or alternatively, of you wish to have some quiet time to yourself, each villa is very private and quiet. It is very relaxing.

My daughter and I were lucky enough to have a massage treatment in their spa, which was sensational and at such a reasonable rate compared with NZ prices.

We loved that they had made such an eco-friendly resort, from the triple filtrated collected rain water to the whole resort being powered 80% by solar power (the rest generator with a view to being completely solar in the future). We really appreciated that effort.

Would definitely stay again in a flash, especially after the Tapas bar and restaurant opens, it will be absolutely outstanding.

Wow.

What a great property. Hosted by Barry & Jade you’re immediately made to feel like part of the family. With only 12 villas in the complex you feel like you’re at a home away from home.

The villas are incredibly well thought out with large living, kitchen and bathroom and a mezzanine bedroom upstairs. There’s everything you need and more in the kitchen to cook as much, or as little as you want.

Everywhere you look there is attention to detail, nothing has been forgotten (including egg cups!).

The bar is yet to open but a sneak preview was had and it’s going to be just as good as the rest. The spa had talented staff and incredibly reasonable prices.

Across the road is an excellent mini supermarket that has everything you need and Villi’s burgers are a must have.

Thinking about staying at Ocean Escape? Do it, you won’t be disappointed.

This location is fantastic. The owners have put many thoughtful touches into the design, and it is run by helpful and friendly staff, and kept immaculately clean. Free washing machine was handy at reception and kitchenette well appointed and food starter packs handy and tasty. As it is near new, the owners are still refining some things. I would rate it at 4 or 5 stars except that on our 4 night stay, the air con stopped working properly the final 2 nights, and kept cutting out after an hour or less. The owner made some suggestions which we tried to no avail. Maybe it was too short a notice to get an air con mechanic to fix it. It meant a poor nights sleep for the final 2 nights, but we would come back, in faith that these teeth problems get sorted. When the on site restaurant is up and running it will be a complete package. Didn’t try the day spa so can’t comment but other patrons we spoke to did and said it was great. Adjacent beach is not a swimming beach but saltwater pool is lovely. We saw whales go by!

The wifi strength was poor and patchy, compared to another resort we stayed at, so we hope this gets fixed. It kept constantly dropping out and to buy more time, reception needs to be open to buy another vodaphone voucher. At some other places, when you run out, you can self top up and add it to your bill…I strongly suggest the same process be set up here, as it’s frustrating to be using wifi at night and have it run out, but you cannot do anything about it til the next day.

As soon as you walk into @oceanescaperesort you are greeted with the only ocean water lagoon pool on the island. The villas all face the pool but are still very private with lush tropical greenery screening your deck and entrance to the villa. Each of the 12
Villas are designed with a beach house vibe, clean, comfortable and spacious with kitchen, lounge room and bathroom on the lower level and king bed upstairs on the loft level. The fridge is stocked with a lovely breakfast hamper and selection of jams and cheeses, and of course a bottle of complimentary bubbles!

We experienced the in-house day spa which is run by the most lovely Balinese ladies. The best massage I have had in a long time.

The property will open their own restaurants called BJ’s Tapas in the coming months which will be something to look forward to.

This adults only property is suited to couples and friends who enjoy a boutique hotel vibe, fun atmosphere with tunes playing by the pool and lovely welcoming hosts, Barry and Jane who make you feel like family.

We chose the resort because of the salt water pool and the lovely self contained villas. Arrived just after lockdown in NZ and instead of staying 8 nights ended up staying nearly a month. Our hosts were extremely generous in their offer of a very good rate , for as long as we liked until the border re-opened. The resort is beautiful, has been so thoughtfully designed and the pool , with the fish (including Larry who nibbled my toes) and no horrible chlorine is wonderful. We have stayed in a number of places on the Island, mostly around Muri, and this is where we will come in future. Owners and all staff so friendly and helpful. Thank you for an amazing stay.

We stayed a blissful 9 nights in the gorgeous ocean front villa. It’s was the perfect balance of relaxed luxury we needed.
With afully equipped kitchen if we chose to eat in, a breakfast basket of fruit, cheese & eggs so we could cook breakfast, & enjoy lazy mornings with coffee watching the ocean. We had a bbq by the pool one evening, it was so good to not eat out every meal.
The pool was heaven. The spa with amazing foot & leg massages before the relaxing body massage.
Friendly helpful staff & owners make everyone welcome and the incredible Elaine who was always smiling & where nothing was a problem.
I cannot recommend Ocean Escape highly enough and can’t wait for our next visit.
Forgot to mention it’s one of the best spots on the island to whale watch as the reef wall is so close. Perfect!

From the moment you arrive you just can't help but feel relaxed. We had the very gorgeous Villa 2 which is an absolute beachfront townhouse. Whales swam by constantly which we watched from our private deck and little beach and it is on the sunrise side of the island. The pool is fresh salt water from the ocean and there's even hammocks in the water. The layout of OE has been very well thought out, we never heard other guests even though there are beachside areas with lounges and a swing. Everything in the rooms are high spec and the kitchen was very well equipped for the times you don't feel like eating out. There's a supermarket across the road which sells steaks and wine/beers and a bus stop outside.

This resort was great. We cannot fault it. We stayed for 7 night. We liked the location. About 5.5km from town and 2.5km to Muri.

The only units are well equipped, a great salt water pool, good sunbathing spaces, good beach and ocean views, good and helpful hosts/staff, good spa, good lounging spaces, good linen/towels (nice and fluffy), good aircon, and good privacy. The resort has been well planned. The units are very clean as are all the outdoor spaces including the outdoor shower.

Even though the resort beach is
not a swimming beach it is still idealic. The sound of the ocean might take a little getting use to but it’s all part of the experience. Seeing whales from the resort was a real treat too.

The complimentary breakfast was more than we could eat/drink. We made use of the spa every 2nd day.

There is a supermarket across the road and Vili’s burger bar across the street.

We renewed our vows at the resort. Jade and Elaine were great organising the flowers, cake, photographer, celebrant and making sure it all went seamlessly. We had a wonderful time.

We would definitely stay again.

Not sure if the lack of a break for almost three years contributed to our assessment of this place but how often does the "promise" in the information supplied by a website actually get met in the real world let alone be surpassed by the experience at the venue.
Everything stated was what we experienced. It is a beautifully built property with loads of style and unique in many respects from the fantastic salt water pool to the soon to be opened (I hope) second story bar/restaurant. Everywhere there are little touches that add to the charm of the place.
The villas provide comfort and privacy. Think 5 star suite crossed with the very best beach bach you could imagine. The villa facilities allow anyone the opportunity to cook their own meals and plenty of breakfast provisions including many different fruits are provided.
The pool is a focal point of the community assets provided and, with respect to more active snorkelers, looking at the tropical life in the pool (little fishes, star fish etc) rather than in the lagoon was the best and easiest option for us. The communal bbq at the sea end of the pool area offers another cooking option.
As ever "hospo" is created by the hosts and we really appreciate having been hosted by Barry & Jade. Hope to be back sooner rather than later.
