One of the worst experience of my life!... The bed was the most uncomfortable I have seen in my life. There was a lot of noise in the room from a ventilator outside on the wall. The smell of food from the pub below inundated the room Like that wasnt enough, the shower didnt work properly. The water came either very...

Highly recommended if you're in the area or stopping over. We went for the Motorhome Exhibition at the NEC. We ate at the Inn and we were delighted by the area, cleanliness, decor, staff and food. Reasonably priced home cooking that was plentiful, tasty and fresh. Lovely atmosphere and the pub is lovely too. Staff were helpful, warm and friendly.

We are so pleased that we booked a room at the Inn. The position, directly opposite the church of St Mary & St Batholomew, could not have been bettered. Our room was spacious and comfortable and, importantly, we were made very welcome by the Innkeepers.

We stayed at The White Lion for 2 nights in September to attend a wedding at the nearby manor. Location Perfect for attending a wedding at Hampton Manor. No more than a five minute walk away. Room We had room number 1, based in the pub itself. Large room, however, as mentioned previously, there is no toilet door. The toilet...

We stayed at The White Lion for two nights and found it to be warm and welcoming. Our room was away from the pub in an outside block, which was good as it was away from the pub noise, although next to the beer garden, which we didn't find to be a problem at all. The room was basic but...

Stayed here recently with my wife, and all round we had a very good stay. The staff were all welcoming and helpful, so all good on first impressions. The room we had wasn't big, but was plenty big enough for an overnight stay. The bed was comfortable and everything in the room/en-suite was clean and worked. The room also remained...

The website menus looked so promising; but not for lunch. A very restricted lunchtime menu which was sadly not representative of their website offers. Would have to go for dinner if sufficiently courageous.

We are sorry you were disappointed at lunchtime, when we run a more restricted bar meal offer and specials board, and hope you may visit in the evening when we run a full a la carte menu. However , we do feel a one star rating is somewhat harsh to say the least !

Thank you for your comments. Sorry you were disappointed with your stay, I will try to answer your comments with some perspective....... We are a pub in a 400 year old Grade 2 listed building, and as such the layout of the rooms is governed by these legal restrictions. As such in room 1,where we are unable to hang a bathroom...

The staff and the food were very good. My room, in the main building, had a bed with an old mattress that you could feel every spring. Very uncomfortable. Other reviews have said the same. Probably wouldn't use again because of this.
