This resort is definitely the place to be. The employees, especially the owner Boon and his family are super friendly and they are always happy to help you book trips to other islands and hire taxi drivers to drive you around the town. The resort itself is a short 5 minute walk to the town where you can buy fresh fruit and souvenirs, and eat in restaurants looking out onto the beach.

The hotel itself is very homie. There are 11 bungalows, all of different sizes and are usually fully booked by foreigners who want to visit Thailand. The rooms consist of a big comfortable bed, a mini refrigerator, a mirror, a big closet and a bathroom with a shower. Bottles of water are provided with the hotel room and a simple delicious breakfast in the morning. The bungalows overlook the swimming pool that shows an amazing view of the blue sky under shade or sunlight.

If you are planning to go experience a water activity, Mr. Boon is very helpful in deciding which trip is the best and worth the money. Clean towels are provided throughout the day and there is a wide collection of trips to go to on the front desk.

Mr. Boon kindly called one of the hotel drivers to drive us all the way to the Krabi airport. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you don't want to be staying near busy streets and people.

Veranda Lanta Resort is in a very peaceful area with wonderful people and I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want to see the best of Thailand!!

The hotel and pool look exactly like the photos. The hotel was great value. I spent 6 days on this resort, the resort is quiet, miles away from the chaos.

Our room has everything we need and a big porch for relaxing. The hotel is clean and comfortable, with nice staff, nice pool, fair prices, and spacious rooms. The beach is close walking distance, and is a very nice swimming beach. I would stay here again.

The website says:
Finding a charming hotel in Ko Lanta does not have to be difficult. Veranda Lanta Resort is a tropical paradise surrounded by coconut tree gardens, crystal clear pool, and nearby swimming beaches. The resort is ideally situated in Khlong Toab, in short walking distance to convenience of Tesco store, 7-11 store, souvenir shops, pharmacy, barber shop, massage shop, local grocery stores, flea market and street food market. There are many excellent restaurants nearby offering a wide range of Thai and Western dishes, priced from inexpensive to moderate prices. The resort is a short scenic walk to Khlong Nin beach, one of the more popular beaches on the island. The resort offers an atmosphere to relax, nourish and revitalize.

The rooms offer air conditioning, refrigerator, flat screen TV, large porch with seating, and getting online is easy, with free wifi available. For guests with a vehicle, free parking is available. There are bungalows, king rooms and double bed rooms with two beds for families. The resort has a small family style feel, and the hospitality is great because it is family owned and run. The resort is located a safe distance off the noisy busy road, which means it’s peaceful and quiet at night for sleeping.

Booked three nights here over New Year, through booking.com. Arrived at hotel to find around 10 other families all trying to book into the same room! They offered us all another hotel well away from the beach "but with some building work going on". I took my family and left to an adjacent beach - and they even charged me for the taxi!

Basically, they collect dozens of bookings and then farm the people out to affiliated hotels, to get as much money as possible.

They were still accepting bookings for New Years when I looked on booking.com later that evening. Beware of these people!

After travelling to Koh Lanta through travellers recommendations, the Veranda Lanta is a perfect central destination to be able to explore what the island has to offer. It's just a half hour moped drive from the snorkelling coast of the Mo Koh Lanta National Park, and probably the same drunken distance if you want to visit the nightlife of Long Beach...

Mr Boon and his family were the most hospitable hosts we met in Thailand throughout our travels, and went over and above to cater for us throughout our stay. The food was standard Thai food that you can expect for around £2.

If you want more westernised food, you have the famous Bobby Bigboy's on the main road, and also the locals favourite "Seafood Centre" across from the seven eleven for the best seafood you'll eat on the island for next to nothing!

I would highly recommend this resort to not just travellers, but to anyone that doesn't consider themselves too upper class, or who take themselves too seriously.

I don't understand how anyone can give this resort a bad review when you're paying around £10 a night... I know I couldn't find anywhere that even resembles this resort in the UK/ Europe for £10 a night!

At the end of the day, you're on an island in Thailand, not at Hotel 41 in Central London, what more do you expect?

We stayed at Veranda for two nights. Quality of aircon was very poor, might as well have been a fan room. There were tons of ants in the bathroom and they also got into our bags. Food was also terrible. We ordered Pad Thai and fried rice our first day there and we couldn't finish them, they were so bad. Only real positives were the quiet location, cute pool, and reasonable price with proximity to the beach.

A very nice NEW well done resort with several bungalows, main house with several rooms for those, who prefer to stay longer and an excellent pool. Placed in the Klong Nin beach area in the middle of the island, not directly on the sea shore, but for this offers a quiet atmosphere. Excellent for those who want to discover the island and prefer to have a good undisturbed sleep at night. (The beach and all restauraunts and bars in Klong nin are still very close.)
This hotel is family run and the owner and his family were very friendly and did their best to fullfill all our needs. Highly recommendable for those who search good comfort for a resonable price.
P.S. Last remark to the location: The hotel is situated on the hill, abovethe main road, so renting a scooter is recommendable.

The person managing the resort is awful, disrespectful, and dishonest. Good luck dealing with them, but I definitely don’t recommend it.
I don’t know what people say that is close to the beach and is not, same with 7eleven and everything……..

This hotel is garbage. First the check in took around 30 minutes. We ordered a family sea view bungalow, but got two(!) garden bungalows with a garbage view. There was mold on the walls, no fan, no AC. They started changing the locks on the door, lamps and lightbulbs after check in. No one spoke English. We had booked for four days, but ran off after two hours of watching maintenance of the bungalows. No damn curtains either, worst place ever! The pictures are lying. Disgusting.
