I booked a 4 night stay in the beach side bungalow. I absolutely loved the view from my room and was close to the pool and bar which was great. The staff at the bar was excellent and the few times we got food was pretty good.

The room was clean when we came and they would easily come clean it between the hours stated. It was quite big and spacious. My only problems with the room is that it is connected to another room right next door by a crickety little wooden for that isn’t sealed all the way. For the first few nights no one stayed there then on our last couple nights we had a family stay there with a screaming toddler. We could hear everything that they said and did and when that boy cried in the morning... ugh. They need better doors in between so you don’t have to hear each other.

The restroom is very outdated. I love the shower concept but it was too small and wet everything as it was right in the middle. Everything in the restroom looks old and had a sewage smell no matter how clean it got.

The pool... I’m a beach girl so was mostly in the beach but when I wanted to go in the pool it poked GREEN! The one time I did go in, I ended up having an allergic reaction all over my body and the next day after that pool looked ridiculously green I wouldn’t want to go in there. They definitely needed to have someone clean it. You couldn’t see the bottom of the pool at all.

For 2,000 baht a night... meh not really worth it. The view was the only thing that kept me there. I’d expect these type of facilities for 1,000 baht a night. They seriously need to renovate!

Do not book this hotel! It is NOT a 3 star - it’s dirty, filthy, old and run down. It does not look like the pictures.

The management don’t care about their costumers or try anything to accommodate or apologize for lack of cleaning! They just want an extra 1000baths a night for another room. Our TUI travel agent had to twist their arm to clean the room and it’s still far from clean.

The room has no chair/table, no minibar, no water boiler, poor lighting you cannot read or see what you write inside and it gives you a headaches, there’s no phone in rooms, no internet, no room service and you’re not allowed to have food in the rooms.

There’s no furnitures for the terrace but cat pops. Walls and doors are thine you hear everything through them. There’s no light on the pathways between bungalows, the reception closes at 10 pm, there’s no security or staff on premises. I’m never been so scared at night nor felt so uncomfortable.

The pool is dirty and so is the breakfast buffe full of ants.

DO NOT book through TUI.com as the guides does nothing for you and the agency doesn’t care either because they don’t get a refund if you move.

I’m basically trapped in this dump and have to pay for a new hotel if I move. Two days of this vacation is now ruined.

This place is on the Klong Nin beach which is so peaceful and so beautiful. If you are seeking for some places to relax and recharge your life. I think this place is one of the answer. Also they have their own restaurant serving fresh food, the bar and the pool! Their staffs are really friendly and helpful, they can make your trip so enjoyable with reasonable price. Visit once then you will love here!! ^^

Our rooms weren’t what we expected and the water didn’t work. The view was good and the pool was okay but our hair and clothes got orange because of the pool water. There were also holes in the door so lizards came in to our room.

We have recently stayed at the Amantra Resort.
Fair play we didn't do our homework so we booked the hotel last minute on the ferry. The pictures looked great but were obviously photo shopped!!!!!

On arrival reality hit us. We were booked into a room overlooking the car park. In addition to this it was interconnected with the staff room. They finished work around 11pm and all of them (judging by the noise must have been 10 staff in one room) started unwinding..Television on full blast, laughing and generally enjoying themselves.
It sounded like there was no wall between us.
After an hour of suffering, I tried to ask for help but of course reception had gone to bed.
Next morning, when we complained we had a very rude and agressive staff member called San - I believe he was a Tour Manager - who advised that we can't have our money back or be moved to another room. Appareantly the Management are based in Bangkok and nobody was available to help us solve the problem.

To cut the long story short in the end after arguing for a while they moved us to a sea view room which was slightly better.
Thank God we only booked the hotel for 2 nights.
The staff were very unhelpful and rude (except for a lady who finally moved us). Most of them were very young, hardly spoke any English and were playing on their mobile phones all night.
I travel a lot for business and pleasure but I can honestly say that I've never had such a horrible stay.
On a positive note it is in a good location, if you want peace and quiet.

Shame on you Amantra!! The pictures are misleading, your staff need to learn some manners and you shouldn't be called a resort/spa. It's a rip off costing us 2500BAHT a night!

We stayed at Amantra resort and spa as we were interested in diving with the Anti Gravity diving school which is located at the hotel, so the package for diving included 4 nights at Amantra resort. It’s a pity that such a hotel with a nice location and beautiful beach is falling into pieces. The staff is not service oriented at all, our friend got here on the first day a bit earlier than check in time and could not check in before 2pm, he asked to check in at 1.50 and the front staff said no, the hotel was then empty. Staff not caring at all about hospitality. There is no good WiFi (none at all in the rooms) and quite poor at reception. Rooms are small, we only spent little time in the room so it was ok. We ate once at the hotel restaurant, bad quality of food and expensive. Nevertheless, if u plan to dive with anti gravity school, they are great, really couldn’t recommend that school more! We had a great time diving, with very nice people, professional divers.

My boyfriend and I booked 5 nights on this hotel with two other couples. We booked 3 superior rooms which looked / looks beautiful on the pictures on the hotels website. On first sight the hotel is beautiful, but once we got our room I was shocked. Everything was dirty, worn out and just really disgusting. Our bedsheets, curtains and towels had orange stains, our mirror looked like someone had been popping pimples, and didn't clean it, our door to the terrace had a huge gab that we needed to close with a towel at night to keep out the mosquitoes and also it needed a big shoulder push to open up, the batteries in our safety box were corroded completely so it didn't work and our bathroom can be described simply as disgusting. Nothing was like the pictures on the website.
We complained to the staff, but all they said was that they were aware of the situation regarding the pictures, but that the website was made by the previous owners, and that they couldn't offer us any other rooms. This is simply not ok.
On our second night we didn't have any water in our room (sink, shower, etc.). This lasted for almost 24 hours and we had to complain several times, before we were finally able to take a shower and use the toilet again. On our last day at the hotel the water broke down again. I am not sure for how long, since we left the hotel before is was fixed.

We had some laundry done at the hotel, but once we went to pick it up, they couldn't find it. There was a lot of back and forth about were the clothes were, and when they couldn't locate it we were asked to come back later that day, where it finally showed up.

In general the staff is not very helpfull. We had to ask them several times before something was fixed, and they would often just speak to each other on their walkie talkies instead of explaining to us why nothing happened.

The restaurant is ok. We had some problems communication since a lot of the staff doesn't speak english, but the foods is alright. The staff seems very bored and lazy though. We often experienced that they would stand in the middle of the restaurant and talk to each other or play pool even though there were guests eating.

We ended up leaving the hotel one day early, and book an extra night on our next location because of the lack of service and the horrible conditions in the hotel room.
If we have had the option to get a refund, we had definitely moved to another hotel earlier.

The only plusses I can think of is the young woman in the reception, who really did her best and tried to solve our issues and also the bar makes a great mojito.

The resort itself needs lots of attention.
Clean up the beach, upgrade the bathrooms they are almost unusable in 3 different rooms. Food was decent & staff were very helpful.
Tommy is a really awesome manager & helped us so much . I would stay again if the trash from beach was cleaned regularly it really makes it horrible .
Great pool great view of ocean .
Beds are not very comfortable but OK.
We stayed in poolside villas.
Note that Wi-Fi isn't available in your villa unless it's close to reception & it's very slow.
No room service no phone no currency exchange & the location isn't close to any shops also.
Must have a scooter or car to get anywhere.
