You will not experience better hospitality than from Mark and Linda on any of your travels :) We arrived late in the evening in a December holiday season to a 'No Vacancy' sign; but asked if it would be possible to roll out our swag at the back of the park.. Without hesitation they welcomed us to sleep in their tent for the night and found us a small patch the following day to stay another night.. Good genuine people creating the best atmosphere in a beautiful location 🧡
This park has lovely green grass, a huge oval to play on and the playground and picnic area is very nice. The caretakers are very welcoming and friendly. Dunes protect the camp from any strong winds yet it’s only a short walk to the beautiful beach. The negatives of this park are that the sites are way too narrow all bar a few un-powered sites. We started off on a powered site but the neighbours in a small tent parked their car within inches from our bedroom window. With their constant loud chatter and banging car doors over and over before 6:30 am it was a real pain. We moved over to a long un powered site for our last night and it was a huge improvement! The facilities are in dire need of improvement. There is NO camp kitchen here. It has 2 bbq’s with a power point and picnic table. Campers were washing dishes in the toilet block. The amenities block has 3 showers and 1 toilet. There is a public toilet block on the beach path with 2 extra toilets and a shower. We will definitely come here again but will be very careful about choosing a large un powered site. Hopefully when the new amenities block is built it will ease the queueing to use the toilet! 59 sites with at least 2 people on each one need a lot more than 3 toilets!! …
From the easy online booking to meeting the caretakers Linda such a warm friendly person we had the best camp spot it was so spacious with bushes between us and the next site, privacy natural and peaceful. The amenities were dated but clean and adequate, such a reasonable price for an unpowered site. A short stroll down the path to a beautiful beach with such natural beauty we walked for miles past protected hooded plovers and pied oyster catchers and swam in the refreshing ocean , there were Little birds around our camp site , dogs are allowed at this park on leads, it was so relaxing such an awesome, relaxing time thank you Linda and Killarney beach park we had the most beautiful time.
