Suason Pradipat is actually an army resort. Although it is opened to public, it is generally the locals and not foreigners that choose to stay in this place.

I will review the overall of the hotel, with the pros and cons of staying in this place:

Rooms:
- Everything is green, from the walls to the bed to the curtains to the towels (makes you feel like you have been transported to emerald city
- Have two single beds with one pillow each
- Have a small tv, fridge and balcony to dry your clothes

- Two bottles of water will be provided everyday

Bathroom
- Bathroom attached, standard size
- Have shower and bathtub
- Two bath towel and two face towels provided everyday
- Shampoo, soap and hand towels provided

Amenities and Services Available:
- Swimming pool
- Conference room
- Karoke room
- Restaurant
- Laundry

Location:
- Next to the beach
- 15 mins by car/tuk-tuk to Hua Hin Market Village Mall

Pros:
- Located next to the beach
- Laundry prices are reasonable
- Rooms are spacious

Cons;
- The staff don't really speak much English
- No internet access except in the lobby
- The restaurant food is pretty sucky and expensive (walk 500m north you'll find a better restaurant)
- The rooms are a bit dark and dingy due to colors coordination
- Not well-kept and maintained (you can see stains on the headboard of the bed)
- Has mosquitoes and ants
- Not easily accessible to public transport (except for Hua Hin train)

The hotel was very well arrangement even this is not privatize. Staff are friendly and hospitality. However, the hotel is quite far from city like Hua-hin but if you preferred a living with nature, I personally recommended.

The hotel has been renamed as Seapine Hotel. It is owned by the Thai military and mainly to cater for Thai officers retreat. The hotel is quite nice and located beside a beach (however, please note that the beach is not recommended for swimming due to the presence of jelly fish). The hotel was arranged by the organizers of the Asean Universities Alumni (AUA) Friendship Golf Tournament 2018, Chulalongkorn University Alumni Association (CUAA) for the teams from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. The hotel is clean and the rate for all the rooms (which are twin bedded) is the same for single and double occupancy. The hotel staff are quite friendly and helpful with the drawback that most do not speak English except for one. Also the hotel only provided one access card per room resulting in problems for double occupancy - this was resolved later by CUAA for the teams. The food at the coffee house was quite good. However, the hotel is located about half an hour by cab from the town of Hua Hin and cab fares are from Baht 300 per cab (no. of pax may be up to 7 or 8 pax as most are MPVs). If you want a nice hotel with pleasant surroundings away from the town for golfing, the hotel would be suitable with Seapine Golf Course located next door. However, visits to the town and surrounding areas can be a bit more costly due to cab fares.

i have stayed in hotel ( they call suan son hotel2" there is clean and fell comfortable but the overall in the room is quite old becuz hotel have established for many year . if we talk about the price compare to other hotel which front of the beach. this hotel is not expensive . as i understand this hotel is manage by Thai military not public company that's why the overall of the hotel looks old and no any renovation.

while my friend have stayed in Bungalow near the hotel . we don't want to complain that there is very dirty ,and too many contamination in the room , there is no water heater as well. the overall of Bungalow is shabby and old. we don't recommend to stay here. except you need bungalow that very cheap here .

The previous preview was in 2011 and I think I need to update the information regarding the hotel as of today. We were there last weekend and here is what we found.
The hotel has gone under a sea change renovation and what greets you today is 106 rooms, twin, double and singles - all with sea view. If you prefer an upmarket option, there are 10 suites - two on every floor.
The room is very clean and decor is surprisingly pleasant with all hotel amenities you would expect from more expensive accommodation on other beaches. Bathrooms are new. Shower pressure is strong and towels are plentiful. Air conditioning system works well but we prefer the sea breeze coming in through open windows.
What is a very plus point for this hotel is the ground and the landscaped gardens full of flowering flowers even if the dry season has already set in with a vengeance. The swimming pool is well kept and big enough for a few laps if you prefer it to the sea which is a few steps away.
The hotel restaurants surprised us as the food is above average and to our opinion is cheaper than what you have to pay at the restaurants on Takiab beach north of Suanson beach. We have been dining at most of them and agreed that the hotel restaurant is much better.
The sea off this beach is cleanest as there are no beach chairs, umbrellas, vendors ,etc to mess up the beach. This is an army area so none of the annoying sore sights typical of Thai beaches will mar your view.
Then again, if you prefer Pattaya, Phuket or even Hua Hin main beaches, this beach and this hotel is not for you. But if you need quiet time away from the crowd and enjoy being next to the sea, you may find this place a pleasant surprise. I just hope that not too many people have found out about this gem too soon.
The fun way to get to this hotel is by train. Train no.251 and 255 from Bangkok stop at Suanson. It's just a short walk from there to the hotel proper. They are not fast trains so you should take your time enjoying the scenery. Bring a book or a picnic basket. You would love it!
There are also bangalos, camping area and the new hotel on the same stretch of beach, all under army jurisdiction but the public is more than welcome.
The staff may not be proficient in English. Just be patient and all will be sorted in no time.

My wife and me have been there for a long stay in spring 2019. The Hotel is directly on the logng sandy beach of 100 m only for Hotel guests. A nice garden directly ahead of the beach, with a big Pool behind and some 200 m away conected to a perfect 18 hole golfcourse.
A perfect location. The staff was always disponible and very friendly, although their english understanding is not perfect and sometimes you have to patient. The direction did everything to feel us at home. The rooms have been large 30 qm + with frigobar and a beaurifuyl outlook towards the garden and sea. The beds excellent

THe kitchen was prevalent THai, but excellenty cooked. On request a day before any big fresh fish could be served. THe sitting like we prefered, or in an airconditoned room or terrace or with the feet at the sand on the beach bar eating under the moonlight.

Weekends excluded ist was never crowdy. As Thai people like Karoke on the weekends some hour of Karaoke was done by group which came in.

I would give this notes:
outer aerea : five star
cleanness: five star
Room : four star
Thai Kitchen: four star // Intecontinental: 2 stars
Entertainment: two star
Service : three star ( only low because of difficulty in english)
Staff diligency : five stars
Price/ quality : cannot be topped at Hua hin

The Hotel is good for people who like calm, but Hua Hin center is 15 min to go by Taxi.

I stayed at the beach front VIP room, with 1 bed room, 1 living room, a small kitchen cornor (but cooking is not allowed), 3 balconies and jacuzzi bath. The space is large and comfortable. As this hotel (the new name is Seapine Hotel) is a rehabiliation facility under the Thai Army Force, it is not luxerious. The breakfast buffet is so so, only a few choice of food. The beach is peaceful. The only thing the hotel should improve as a must is the swiming pool. It is not well maintenance, left a lot of moss at the base and easily seen from top down! (See the picture)

I can here almost every year with our students. This beach front hotel is very safe, it's owned by Thai army. I go for morning and evening runs on lovely white sand beach.

The room is very decent, has fridge and a big beach view balcony. It can be noise due to poor isolation.

It offers great thai food at the restaurant, very yummy and reasonable price.

Staff are very friendly and helpfulI. We enjoy the staying a lot.

Background:
I saw a snippet of the hotel (SUANSON Pradipat #2 -NEW Extension) on Thai TV5, inviting the general public to use the Army facilities. They interviewed the hotel guests, all of which were pleasantly surprised with positive endorsement for the new hotel extension. If you have a perception of an old-style Army resort (Suanson Pradipat #1 - on the same beach), this new hotel Suanson Pradipat #2 will give you a great sense of satisfaction !!

Worth commenting:
*** THE LANDSCAPE (beach view in front- lush mountain behind the building); soft-scape around the walkways; swimming pool and beach gardens are worth complimenting on their design and maintenance. I will be surprised if you just take 1-2 pictures (more like 10+) to upload on IG fb LINE. You take the first picture, then the next and the next (thinking to yourself how do I capture its true beauty on my iPhone/Samsung/…)

*** We stayed in one Deluxe room (more like a Suite with 110 Sq M) 7500 THB, and two Superior rooms (standard 45 Sq M) 2500 THB. Worth every Baht!! THE DELUXE room is Spacious; has a wooden floor; walk-in closet; jacuzzi with seaview and 2 balconies accessing the sea breeze and beach view. The Superior rooms are simple, spacious, clean.

*** The lobby might be on a small scale for 199 rooms-hotel but cozy with great ocean view. Beverages are amazingly cheap (amazingly low prized in a 4 star rating establishment: eg., 50+- THB for a glass of beer or your cup of cappuccino) considering most hotels would add ++surcharges. Do relax UNDER the SUN or COOL down in the LOBBY sipping away your favorite drink.

*** Function / meeting facilities are highlight to the hotel (corporate retreat, meeting, incentives, conferencing, exhibition.) as the main objective for building the hotel for army retreat rehabilitation and now open for the general public. Next next next to the hotel is a full 18 holes beach view golf course.

Some minor things to note (so not to be upset by minor issues):
??? Bed on the soft side.
??? Instructions around the hotel need to be proof-read (eg., hot-cold water directions reversed!!)
??? No "good morning SIR.. MADAM". (which is understandable - knowing their background is ARMY). But in no way - rude or too rough (but sure not too pretentious as you find in most hotels).
??? Breakfast buffet: very average (if you compare to most 3/4 star establishments). My honest opinion in this category is that there is room for improvement. We did not try their à la carte - so no comment there.
??? Website for this new hotel is already out of date- (possibly the website was out-sourced) so pictures, events, promotions, gallery, contact numbers are not UPDATED!!!

The hotel "#2 Suanson Pradipat" has 199 rooms, 189 Superior (standard) & 10 Deluxe (suite). There are discounts for Army personnel/family, for possible promotions contact the hotel.
