Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had a great time for my 2 month stay at the summit backpacker while working at the apple packing shed. The outdoor area is definitely the big pro it's amazing with hammock, workout space, BBQ, bonfire! Penny and Ben are amazing as well and very helpful.
Would definitely recommand, best place to stay for farm work!

Arrived here in March to do my 88 days, just before the corona. This is an awesome hostel with very friendly owners who really care about you. They really try to find you farmwork and host a nice bbq and bonfire every now and than.

Had an amazing time in this hostel!

The hostel is very well equipped and the owners are young people that are committed to make their place as good as they can. They also give all the guests lifts to their farms and take you to the town and back for your food shopping. They're excellent people with loads of ideas for the weekends as they always organize some sort of activity for sunday which is a day off for most workers. They take you to National Parks or have some sporty things, dress up parties or band nights at the hostel. They had a once a week free BBQ night as well. The old station house has nice rooms where everyone gets a filing cabinet where you can lock your valuables. There are a few TV rooms there too with big flat screens and nice big sofas. Kitchen is in a large building with lots of fridges and plenty of room to cook, eat and hang out. This is the best working hostel one could ask for! But make sure you call them before showing up as many people have to gueue to get a bed!

Our party of 10 had 4 rooms in the hostel for the weekend while attending the Snowflake festival in Stanthorpe.
This hostel was very welcoming and rooms were cosy and warm. Bed linens and towels were all clean and in good condition.
Although showers were on a different level which meant we had to go outside to get to them the facilities were very clean and there was plenty of hot water.
Kitchen facilities were good with plenty of storage in fridges and lock up cupboards to store our food.
Internet was good.
Great location.
Thanks Glen we all had a great stay.

Despotic owner. I’ve heard multiple times her saying to someone “maybe you should find somewhere else to live” when that person didn’t agree with her for some reasons.
She is not very easy to deal with, and that could be a problem when you have to deal with people for work.

Had a great stay here whilst completing our farmwork. Nice tidy rooms with plenty to keep you entertained. Only thing we would criticise is the price of wifi and heating through the winter we found this to be very pricey. Any questions feel free to ask. Thanks
