Just returned from a wonderful few days in this fabulous hotel and I must say that the management and staff were a breath of fresh air in these strange times. They make everyone feel so welcome and the personal touch is very evident. Its no wonder we meet so many people that return again and again. Looking forward to returning very soon.
We had a great time the staff are lovely. The food is amazing and i tryed everything on the menu and its all Lovely. Its a very relaxing atmosphere loads of out door activies to do in surrounding areas. We really enjoyed our stay.
Leenane Hotel on Killary fjiord ... beautiful. After a number of lunch visits when travelling between Westport and Clifden I finally stayed here ... and what a great decision that was. The hotel management are running a very good one way system and making allowances on meals, breakfast etc for distancing and service. This works well and i doubt anyone would feel uncomfortable within the hotel. The sea views are great and i've included two photos of a wet evening and sunny morning. Rooms are large with good ensuite and i found it to be clean and well serviced. Meals were equally good and with generous portion sizes. This is a really nice part of West Ireland with plenty to see. The circular road from here through Louisburgh to Westport and back is a must and very memorable. After years of having a couple of weekend breaks per year in Westport ... this hotel has successfully persuaded me to stay here at least once. Can't wait to return in 2021. …
We booked a 2 night stay at the end of September but ended up staying an extra night. The hotel is quite old style (has a Downton abbey feel to it which i loved). The staff are so friendly and helpful. There is a one way system due to covid and sanitisers are placed all around the hotel. It felt very safe!!!. We booked a sea view room which only cost less than €10 extra and my god that view was just amazing. The weather was fab for the most part but even on the day thay it was a little hazy it did not take from the view. The breakfast is served to order so that was also a plus. You have to let them know the night before what time you would like breakfast too. The hotel itself is situated facing the Kilory Fjord, there is a cruise along the fjord also. Aasleagh Falls is about a 8 minute drive. The village of Letterfrack is roughly 25 minutes away, Kylemore abbey is 20 mins, Clifden 45 mins Cong 40 mins ( there's a statue of John Wayne holding Maureen O' Hara from the move "The Quiet Man") and Westport about 30 mins so in my opinion this hotel is the perfect place to use as a base. We will most definitely be back.…
