Our experience is one of neglect. Room 3 was just awful very tired décor, ceiling spotlight loose, stains down sides of bedside cabinets, cracked and broken lampshades obviously caused by overheating of light bulbs, tired stained wrinkled pink carpet, cobwebs on ceiling, valance not covering stained bottom of beds, long black hairs on quilt covers to name but a few...

Easter Monday we set off for Donegal with no plans but we took the cases with us anyway. Our first stop was Dunfanaghy and, in the off chance, we called into Arnold's Hotel not expecting to get a room given that the town was absolutely packed out with visitors. We were lucky to get Room 17 which was spotlessly clean,...

We stayed for one night with another couple. It is a fabulous location but unfortunately no one seems to know what they are doing, there is no direction from management. The food was very bland, And the service slack. We were asked ten times were we ok at the start, but then no one came near us, in fact it...

This hotel was established in 1922, it is not modern. It was clean and tidy and warm, nice open fire and sofas in the reception. Views out the front are very beautiful. Food was good, service in the restaurant and at breakfast was very very slow. The staff are all young and did their best but were rushed of their...

We spent just 2 nights in Dunfanaghy, but this was a nice taster, and we would definitely return for longer. The awful weather on arrival got better, as did our overall experience as the days progressed. Our first night's sleep was marred by traffic noise from the road outside (a room at the back next time, we feel) and noisy...

Had a lovely meal in Arnold's hotel last weekend. Went in to celebrate a friend's birthday and they must have picked up on our conversation at the bar because they brought some surprise cake with a candle at the end of the meal and sang happy birthday. The meals were excellent and I had a chat with the chef regarding...

Dunfanaghy is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. Years ago, I came here for a week-long horseback riding trip with Dunfanaghy Stables, located behind Arnold’s Hotel, and I fell in love with the place and the lovely sweet large pony I was riding. I stayed at Arnold’s Hotel and it was an unforgettable trip. This year, I...

Had a lovely meal here on Friday night. I tried the duck followed by the gingerbread parkin and both were delicious. My husband had the cajun chicken which is a favourite. Service was also very good and liked the refurbishment.

Went to this hotel for Sunday lunch yesterday.A dreadful experience. Both service and food were very poor.Starter was poor in terms of quality and quantity. There was then a delay of 20 - 30 minutes before main course arrived. At this stage we were offered a drink on the house which we refused. My lamb was tough and my wife's turkey and...

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of days and we just loved it! The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. The look of the hotel is a bit "oldie" but really charming. We loved sitting in the little nooks at reception or beside the fire. The rooms are adequate, clean and fit for purpose. The food at the...
