There was a blazing fire lighting in the hearth and the greeting we got was as warm as the fire. We were shown to a beautiful room , very spacious and tastefully decorated. We could not resist having a gaelic coffee in front of the fire and whiling away an hour. Dinner the restaurant was excellent again very warm welcome...

Called on the spur of the moment, early evening. Ordered the prawns off the "special" menu on the blackboard. They were ok. Bit rubbery and tasteless. The potatoes were good, and so was the Guinness! With hindsight, seafood on a Monday might not have been the best choice. But still, for an eatery known for its seafood, it could have...

A few friends and I met for dinner in Aherne 's recently and found the whole experience somewhat underwhelming. The food was good but not exceptional, the surroundings in what looked like a little side bar did nothing to enhance our dining experience. The blackboard of specials had quite a long list of choices but on closer inspection we discovered...

Stayed in Aherne's in January 2017. Made to feel at home. Service with a smile. Room comfortable. Evening meal very tasty.Lovely home made brown bread. for breakfast. Home cooked shortbread served with cup of tea. Menu had a good choice. This restaurant is well known for its fish dishes. Service was prompt in the restaurant.

We were delighted with our stay. Got a break from the kids in a really relaxing environment that is very olde world with very good attention to detail. We had the tasting menu which was outstanding and the breakfast was to the highest standard. The staff were so friendly too! I would highly recommend!

We had an overnight stay in the townhouse in very comfortable accommodation, as it was January dinner was served in the bar, we took the recommendation of the staff as to our choice from the menu. Starters of garlic prawns and smoked salmon, then a seafood platter for 2. The food was excellent and beautifully presented.

Thanks so much for taking us in on a dark December night! What a relief to find a welcoming fire blazing and a delicious seafood dinner, and then a warm and comfortable bed before a great Full Irish to get the next day off to a flyer. The best place to stay east of Cork city and a great stop...

I recently had the 9 course tasting menu with drinks pairings as a birthday treat. Everything was lovely and the drinks pairings with each course were spot on! Our host was so friendly and we felt so relaxed. I would definitely recommend a trip to Ahern's if you are in Youghal.
