Stayed here for a couple nights and absolutely nothing to complain about. Wads firstly put in a room directly facing the elevator on the floor which wasn't ideal as we could hear every single bit of movement from it so rang reception and had the room chnaged in a matter of minutes. The housekeeping are very friendly. The bar connected to the hotel is a great bar with a variety of entertainment on most nights.

My husband and I recently spent two nights in the hotel on a pigsback.com deal which was excellent value. The hotel is in the centre of the town and an excellent location for exploring the wild atlantic way. Our room was beautiful, newly renovated with fab furniture and a big comfi bed and lovely en suite. Breakfast and the bar food was excellent with the bar having really quirky decor. The menu offered a good selection. There was lots of staff on and the service was excellent. There was lots of hand sanitizers everything felt safe. Would definitely return again.

I stayed with my wife on a 4 night special, value for money 5 star, amenities, room, general ambiance 5 star, staff 5 star of course, food 4 star, a bar food menu with a special every night may not suit everyone. Will I go back, yes. The location is fantastic, on the main street and never had a problem with the hotel parking.

Stayed with family recently, hotel on entrance appeared very nice however accommodation was that poor I've had better nights camping in a tent considering we stayed in a hotel costing over 100 pounds for one night stay this is a very poor statement, I was up and off home first thing in the morning couldn't wait to leave left feeling rough as due to the condition of the bathroom and no heating I did not shower or change just couldn't wait to get out of this hotel to be honest. Room no heating had a blow heater for heat that we found in the room, dirty walls, doors and curtains the bathroom black/orange drity grout cracked tiles cracked toilet bowl, worst accommodation I've stayed in. The warehouse kitchen bar however was good, good food and drink, staff pleasent, however the accommodation was a major let down I will never return nor recommend to anyone.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough from the actual booking right upto our stay. The carprak is located at the back of the hotel which made checking in very easy and very reassuring. The staff were so welcoming and always so helpful. We booked to stay 2 nights and on both nights we ate in the Warehouse bar and kitchen. I would highly recommend the four course dinner which is well worth its value. The choice of drinks and cocktails is brilliant too. I would absolutely recommend this place and we will definitely be back.

Everything was amazing. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. Housekeeping staff were so friendly and accommodating- greeted us every morning with a wee chat. Breakfast was great with a wide variety of food options and again, all staff were so friendly and attentive. The food in the bar is a must try for everyone. One member of staff stood out in the bar, Jessica. She made the cocktails and never stopped working, constantly cleaning and tidying while waiting on orders, and singing away to herself. She’s a credit to the management.

We were upgraded to a king size bed which was fine, but they should have asked prior as we were hoping for two beds. The room we were in had no phone as they were working on the phone line so we had to use our own mobile to call reception. I like having a top sheet but apparently that’s not a thing so they brought one up after I rang down the second time for it. Also the temperature was hard to control—the window was locked with a key so we couldn’t open it and the ac wasn’t really cooling much. I mentioned it to the person who brought us the top sheet and she said they control it from downstairs. That was odd. It never really cooled down (hence the need for the top sheet only). However, the bathroom was lovely, the room was comfortable besides being a tad warm, the bed was comfortable. It had a few quirks but for the price I thought it was great.

Dear Guest Thank you for choosing McGettigan's Hotel on your recent visit to Letterkenny and thanks you for taking the time to share your experience with others on Trip Advisor. I am pleased that you found your recent stay with us good value. I am sorry that our executive room did not meet your needs, we would have been happy to move you to a classic room with 2 beds had we been aware. The air conditioning in our guest rooms can be controlled from the room itself or our reception desk, I am sorry that you found the room too warm. As you mention, we were having a new telephone system installed during your stay, I apologise if this caused you any inconvenience. We appreciate your feedback and I will be sure to pass your comments on to the relevant departments. I hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back to McGettigan's Hotel in the future, when we hope to not only meet, but exceed your expectations. Warmest Regards

Just heading home after a 2 night trip to Letterkenny. The Hotel is absolutely spotless, all the Covid 19 regulations are strictly adhered to. A great deal at €89 for the room plus 2 glasses of wine 🍷. Only down side was the room was extremely warm & the AC useless. Despite this, I will be back as Letterkenny is a nice town & the scenery north of it is absolutely stunning.

The staff were deplorable. The bathroom looked like it was given a quick run over with a dry cloth. Hair in the bath, toilet seat fixture broken (I found out the hard way) the extra single bed in the room looked like it was lay on, hair also on that and a piece of rubbish laying on top of it. We let that slide as we hardly ever complain. Also, Fines if you bring your own bottle into your room and fines if you bring any snacks into your room. We used their bar and dining facilities. Everything was going very mediocre but hey, we were just glad to be away for a couple of days. We used the dining facilities on the second night also, then the real side of the staff came through. I dared challenge the receptionist about a few Euro that she owed me as she had worked out the wrong exchange rate, she was very irritated and distracted and ended up giving the money she owed me after I explained where she was making the wrong calculations, I was handed the money like I should have just let them away with ripping me off. From then on the staff seemed to wolf together, it came to a head after a staff member accosted me on my way back into the dining area. He tried to make up some trumped up reason about wearing a mask, and he was quite aggressive in his demeanor. He had been drinking secretly from under the counter at the entrance to the dining area. I challenged him on said fact and pointed out that, that maybe a bit of the reason he was becoming so irate, he then brought up the mask story again to which I produced an email from the HSE to try and clarify his unreasonable behaviour, he point blank refused to read the document. So I just asked him to move aside so I could finish my post dinner drink with my partner, he kept on blocking my path, I told him if he didnt move from my path and my space that I would knock him out and told him he was under the influence, he moved aside at that, he would not tell us his name so we left peacefully and retired to our pig sty... sorry, our room, we received a phone call from a lady and she simply said ï am the manager I want you to leave the hotel or she would phone the guards" When I enquired why that was she said "you were rude to a staff member now leave" We complied and were left standing in the street in the dark and cold. We eventually got a night in th Mount erigal hotel were we treated like anyone else would expect to be treated, with a wee bit of respect. Draw your own conclusions people.

Your review is somewhat different to the reality of events.  In the interest of health & safety and for the welfare of hotel guests and staff you were asked to leave the hotel on Monday evening by the hotel manager.  We apologise that you were overcharged on the currency conversion, this was simply human error, which can happen, it was not deliberate and you were refunded the €2.50 immediately when you made the receptionist aware.    Just to clarify the facts of your review,  you were very intoxicated, disruptive and abusive to various members of staff in the bar & restaurant and reception desk and therefore asked to leave the premises by the manager.  The bar manager did not accost you, he approached you to remind you on the face mask policy as you were not wearing a face covering, this is not 'trumped up', it is in fact mandatory by the government to wear face coverings in all public areas and when not seated at your table when dining.  You were not singled out, we would remind any guest not wearing a face covering and not displaying an exemption lanyard or badge of the government guidelines and our guests are usually understanding and compliant.  You proceeded to shout and disrupt our other guests by asking them why they were wearing face masks.  You falsely accused the bar manager of secretly drinking alcohol, this was certainly not the case, our staff do not drink alcohol on duty.   As you admit in your review, you threatened the bar manager with physical violence, we do not tolerate this behaviour, our staff are working extremely hard throughout this pandemic, following the government guidelines and doing their best to ensure that our guests and team members are safe.  The overwhelming majority of our guests are supportive and appreciative of our efforts during these strange and unusual times.  As you said in your review, people will draw their own conclusions and I am sure they will when given all the facts. Regards

Hi, there were no gym facilities in the hotel and I wasn’t aware of anything close by in terms of a sports centre. However, they have a sister hotel on the other side of town called the Clan Ree which I believe has just been renovated. They may have a gym and allow you to use if at their sister hotel
