I have stayed at this inn in this awesome small irish village, only 14 miles from galway. Its an easy drive into the busy city if you want. The folks in this village are so friendly, that they will chst you up in the pub, in the shops or in the pub. The rooms in the inn have all been...

I wake up on a cold, wet, miserable Tuesday, what to do? Go and get some breakfast. The Boat Inn, had a Vegetarian breakfast there last week, it as great, even too much. Walk in, daily paper on the left, sit down, order tea. Decide on scrambled eggs with bacon, brown bread toasted. Into the paper and tea, breakfast arrived...

Been here many times and will continue to come back as the food has been amazing each time. All the food is sourced locally and potion sizes are good. Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, great atmosphere with live music on a regular basis.

The Boat Inn never fails. Great staff and beautiful food and the beers not bad either. Stayed here a while back and the rooms although not the biggest provided all that was needed. The breakfast on the other hand is the best around for miles and not costly at all. The Boat Inn is clean and the staff are amazing...

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere and amazing location. Love the Boat inn, always visit here on our holidays from England and only wish that the UK would take a leaf out of the Oughterard way of running pubs :D Our home from home :)

A very typical looking Irish inn with great, friendly service. The fare was classic and well done--especially the seafood chowder! The fish and chips were great as well. As a nice little surprise the fruit pie was a delicious way to finish off the meal. Off the beaten path but well worth the visit if passing through.

Oughterard is a small village with just a few restaurants. This was the busiest one on the day. I really enjoyed my afternoon visit here. Chowder was filling & accompanied by a lovely pint of Guinness. I was very satisfied & the staff were nice & efficient. The restaurant itself was clean with a quirky boat shaped bar. I'll be...

Stopped off for a good quality lunch here on the way from Clifden to Dublin. The food was fresh, delicious and priced competitively. The seafood bisque was particularly tasty - obviously made with fresh local ingredients. Service was good although you need to order and pay at the bar first....then wait.

Have stayed in the Boat Inn 5/6 times over the last 20 or so years. I have always enjoyed my stays here but my most recent (3rd - 6th August) was the best. The Boat Inn has been under new management for 5 years now and the changes that have been made all seem to be for the better. Stunning...
