Lovely home base to tour the West coast and close to Galway. Our family of 4 stayed in the family suite with a double, a single and a pull out and were very comfortable. The breakfast is traditional and very good. We enjoyed a delicious gourmet dinner one evening that began with a drink in the library and ended with... More

Not sure whether it is apt to classify the Ross Lake House as a very large B & B or a small hotel. But in any case, we were well looked after by our dedicated hosts despite the extent of multitasking going on. The experience has the feel of being invited to stay at a rich friend's mansion for dinner.... More

I just recently visited Ireland with my family and our first stop was Ross Lake House Hotel. Upon arriving I could not believe how peaceful and beautiful the hotel was. The hotel is about a 5 minute drive off the main road and once on the hotel grounds it feels like you are in another world. The hotel is surrounded... More

From the warm welcome, exquisite room , cozy atmosphere and delightful hosts, our stay here certainly capped off a fantastic visit to Ireland. Elaine and Henry could not have been more hospitable - they even assisted in finding a distant relative of my husband! Truly a happy place and wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful stay in Ross Lake House Hotel. Everyone was so friendly, dinner was delicious and the rooms were exquisite. The hotel is located close to Oughterard and Clifden where there's a tonne to see and do. Couldn't have asked for a nicer weekend break!

The place has a massive amount of character and the proprietor Henry was absolutely charming, we had some great discussions about Irish history and he was very knowledgeable, plus he went to great trouble to draw us a map with a short cut across to Ros a Mhil to catch the ferry to Inish Mor. His charm and friendliness seemed... More

Had a very welcoming, comfortable stay here. The house and the grounds are very well kept. My room was very spacious with an ensuite bathroom. Old Ireland country charm for sure! Henry and Elaine are great people. I felt very comfortable here and would definitely stay here again.

We fell in love with the place! and with the owners Elaine and Henry! The hotel is ideally situated 5 min. by car from Oughterard from where you can make the most marvellous tours all over Connemara and 25 min. from the dynamic Galway city. The hotel has a very nice atmosphere and Elaine has the most fabulous kitchen, using... More
