Went to the Crannog Eco Lodge with agroup of 4 adults and 2 kids. It was wonderful, with friendly and helpful staff and a great location (Bluebell wood walk was in bloom while we were there :-) and facilities. The kids LOVED it, being adopted and accompanied everywhere by the eco-lodge's dogs, Minnie and Ginger. Hope to get back there...

Stayed here with two adults and two children under 10 in the long house log cabin. We had the cabin to ourselves which made a big difference: we really enjoyed the collection of books and games as well as the kitchen which was much better stocked than most camp kitchens. All the staff we met were very helpful, welcoming and...

We (two adults and one 9-year-old) just spent six nights in the magnificent A-frame cabin, constructed with 24 pallets and piles of passion. I really like staying in yurts, but we picked the cabin in the end because of its waterproof verandah, made for grown-ups who want space to sit and talk when little ones have snuggled down. The cabin...

Stayed in the long house at Crann-Óg for the second time recently, this time in a party of 6 adults and one baby. The farm is a real retreat from the hustle and bustle of urban living and working and it is extremely conducive to switching off completely. the facilities are excellent, you get suprrising heat from the solar showers...

Prior to coming here, I had WWOOFing experiences in several other places in Ireland. Crannog was the most unique and fun. I had the richest experience there, learning and working in the operation of a school of eco-tourism, yoga, spirituality, diversity, and love. The people I met there really made my time special. I don't know that it could ever...

My stay here was idyllic! Such a serene property surrounded by lush woods and inhabited by the friendliest mixed bag of animals. Yoga in the yoga room was beautiful with its strategically positioned fan of window panes looking out onto the pond and orchard and getting to eat some of the homegrown fruit, veges and eggs was actually a real...

A stay at Crann Og is an experience not to be missed! I fell in love with this place when I found its website while rambling around the internet looking for a holiday destination within Ireland. It seemed idyllic, the perfect kind of location and type of trip I was looking for. I am delighted to say that my subsequent...

This magical place is not too far from Gort and is excellent value for money. Marion & Flor are the excellent hosts along with all the friendly animals. We spent 3 nights in the log cabin, 5 adults and 2 kids under 8. We took in a yoga class, hike to the close by Burren and some pony riding. This...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A beautifully hand crafted paradise of 14 acres of natural gardens, trees, sculpted willow fedges, arches and domes. ‘Eco-Tourists’ come from all over the world to stay with us in the spring & summer months to enjoy the peace and tranquility. The simple quality of Crann Og has been recognised by Eco Tourism Ireland and it’s strict certification criteria as Gold Standard EcoTourism. This certification is recognised and ratified by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. The ultimate in ‘up-scale’ recycle building and a comprehensive reduce, re-use and recycle program give us an incredibly low carbon footprint. The perfect location to get away from the hustle and bustle. So close to all the action, yet far enough away to be another world. Utter tranquility in nature. We use dry composting toilets, solar heated showers and generally keep energy consumption to a minimum. All of the facilities, including the main house and Yoga studio, are constructed using re-use and recycle principles. We are a showcase for sustainable living and avoid the use of potentially toxic materials in the construction and fitting of our facilities. We provide eco friendly soaps/gels, shampoos/conditioners & dish washing liquid in our facilities for our guests and for our retreats. Our beds are extremely comfortable, clean and fresh and it is unlikely you will experience a sleep as quiet and tranquil as at Crann Og, especially if you are usually a city dweller! We have the Longhouse cabin - ideal for families & groups, as well as a secluded A-frame cabin and and in warmer months very cosy yurts. Our Yoga studio, cabins and bathroom were newly renovated in winter 2015/16. Crann Og is well situated for excursions to the Burren National Park, the Cliffs of Moher & The Wild Atlantic Way. We have quality rustic accommodation ranging in style from wood cabin bunk houses to a secluded A-frame cabin and yurts. Our on-site facilities include solar showers (with auxiliary heating from wood stoves), dry composting toilets, cabin and field kitchens, clean fresh well water and a recycling station. Our accommodation facilities are available all year, except for the yurts, which are available from April to September. We share our space with many animals, such as horses, sheep, lambs in season, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, wild birds, fish & deer. We offer pony rides and guided walks into the adjoining ancient woods, both suitable for children and adults alike. We also offer other activities such as guided tours of the Burren or the Cliffs of Moher, yoga and therapeutic massage by prior appointment. Also check out our program of events and workshops available throughout the year. The bedrooms are cozy and warmed by radiators in winter, heated by the stove and solar panels. The Longhouse also has a shower room, supplied with fresh well water, powered by solar energy but also heated by the stove during winter time. There are two compost toilets for the real down-to-earth experience. Unless the cabins are block-booked in advance, their beds are available all year around, in hostel style.
